I have tried: W7 Prime Magic Face Primer Camera Ready Rimmel Stay Matte Primer Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer (around £12) and even the Benefit Porefessional Primer (which is over £20!) I actually prefer it to the Benefit primer! Primer is supposed to make your make-up go on smoothly, providing a dewy and even finish. It's also supposed to make your make-up last all day. This primer leaves my skin luxuriously soft without feeling greasy or heavy. I personally never have problems with my makeup going patchy and it does last a full 16 hour day for me (although I do use good makeup - i.e. Max Factor Face-finity All Day Flawless foundation and Estee Lauder double wear concealer). I am 21 years of age and have normal, healthy skin. How I use the product: I moisturise my face with Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-ageing moisturiser and wait around 20 seconds before applying a pea-sized amount to my face. I sweep it over the areas that I am going to be applying make-up to (my nose, cheeks, chin and forehead) and wait about 20 seconds before applying my foundation with a foundation brush. This really seems to sink into my skin and provide added moisture, making my skin look dewy and fresh. On days where I have been rushing or daydreaming whilst doing my makeup I have applied my foundation and wondered why my foundation hasn't glided on seamlessly and looks somewhat dull. Then I have realised that I forgot to put this primer on! Primer really does make a difference to your make-up and this one is perfect. It is the right consistency (thick and creamy but not heavy) and has no unpleasant smell and doesn't clog my pores since I rarely ever have spots or blemishes. As previously mentioned, I actually prefer it to the expensive Benefit Porefessional primer which did not leave my skin dewy.
