This is a fascinating design for a watercolor set. It contains 42 colors that flip out like paint sample chips from a hardware store. Seven levels of paint and an eighth/bottom slide which is a small mixing tray/palette. These neither flip out too easy nor are too hard to maneuver. It comes with a brush that you can fill with water for easy travel. There’s even a clip on the cap so it can clip in your pocket like a pen. There’s a small white sponge attatched to the top. I’m assuming that it is for dabbing extra water or paint off your brush. The set is nicely compact. The range of colors are great for such a small footprint. The paints, when wet, don’t seem to smear on the undersides of the level above them. Some paints are better pigmented than others, but none are poor. In fact the paints themselves are pretty nice for the price. The two main design flaws are as follows. The first paint on each flip out level can be tricky to get to. You really need to swing the others away to reach them.The color charts on the ends of the levels are supposed to give you an idea of the colors in each, from top to bottom. The colors are only sort of accurate and since knowing what color is which can be hard if you are looking at the pans of paint themselves, you are going to want to paint some sample swatches of the colors in the front of your travel sketchbook.Overall a nifty set.

The media could not be loaded.  I was a little hesitant about buying these but reviews were pretty good. I'm so glad I bought them. They are a mini traveling watercolor set but I'll use them at home too. I think they are my favorite watercolor set right now and I wish they had a bigger option because I'd definitely buy them! These colors are beautiful and vibrant. You can use a more saturated look or that light watercolor look. THEY ARE NOT CHALKY! That's hard to at about other affordable watercolors. These come with a little aqua paintbrush and it works fantastic. The bristles we're not as tough as others I've bought. The watercolor and paint made for a smooth transition on watercolor paper. There is also an empty pan under all the watercolors to mix up your own colors. I'm seriously in love!!!

I am disappointed for never having received an answer from this seller. The paints in this watercolor travel kit are nice, but they are all classified with a letter-number code which has no explanation. I asked to receive the list of names related to all these colors/codes and after a first reply "we will send them to you soon" never heard from them again.Also, the set comes if a very cheap and fragile hard-plastic container (already broken on arrival).

Whoever came up with this idea is an absolute artist on the road genius lol! The colors are so vibrant, they make beautiful pictures. The pen brush is very easy to use and the bristles are great quality. I would say this is way above student grade but just under professional quality, so it's great for intermediates who are looking to add more details to their work.

I wasn't sure how a travel water color set would work out. I got this for my 12 year old. He was a little confused at first how to use it because it doesn't come with directions. However, once he got it to work it was great. This is perfect for him to use at his desk in his room to play around with at night. It's an awesome beginners set. The colors are vibrant and the brush cleans easily. I will be purchasing again when he uses it up.

Bought these on a whim for a stocking stuffer. You never know with off brands. Here is what my daughter has said. So, each row has 5 different shades of the same color. She doesn't have to do much mixing because the different tones are there. It comes with a brush that can hold water in it, so you just need to squeeze occasionally. She just wants to keep painting which is sooooo much better the being on the computer!

Paint collapses to make it convenient to keep stored in an art bag. Colors are very vibrant and variety is perfect. The brush doesn't make a mess everywhere. Brush is also easy to refill. Don't have to carry a cup of water around. When adding water to colors, paint doesn't spread and mix with other colors. Paint dries fast so you can put it away without a big mess.
