Nice!
I had the old model, but someone put metal in the microwave and did it in. This is so much better than the old model. It is truly a convection oven now. It comes with two racks and it will fit 2 of the large aluminum foil pans. It heats up quickly. I use it frequently as an oven, along with the typical microwave uses.

Handle breaks after 1 year - Poor quality
The handle broke after a little over a year. I think this is a known issue and happens often since there are how-to websites that show how to replace the handle yourself. The door is not easy to open and the handle is plastic, so over time it must be too much stress on the handle and it breaks. Considering how much we paid for this oven, I am very disappointed with its quality and reliability. Also, the turn table squeaks and it can be annoying if microwaving for 15-20 minutes. We had a previous model for about 17 years with practically no issues, and we liked it so much we decided to replace it with another one. Too bad the quality of the product has declined. We also have an extended warranty on the new Advantium oven, but the warranty will not cover the handle. I was told it is considered a "consumable" item and the warranty only covers electronic parts. So even though we bought the extended warranty from Assurant, we are stuck paying for the repair. I was told by the GE Service department that they cover any parts they replace for 5 years, so I will go through GE directly to have the handle replaced since it will probably just happen again in another year. I called the local appliance place where I purchased the oven and they will only cover the parts they replace for 1 year, and they charge more for the service call.I was planning on replacing the rest of my kitchen appliances with the matching GE profile stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. Needless to say, that is not going to happen now.

Current model not up to par with models from prior years.
I just had a new Advantium installed this morning. It is the 3rd I've had. The one I replaced was working, but had a malfunction recently that I suspect indicated it was time to replace it.I love these ovens—the speedcook feature is amazing. I've learned through experience that using it for grilling is not a great idea, because grease spatters all over the interior and is difficult to clean—it gets baked on very solidly and I never found a cleaner that would remove it completely. The other thing I noticed with the previous oven, and just tested in the new oven, is that in straight convection baking mode the temperature is off by precisely 50°. There is an automatic convection conversion feature which will reduce the actual temperature by 25° from the temperature you set, but I ensured that it is off and the 50° disparity is real using measurements from two oven thermometers on the two different levels (racks).--- Updated 3/1/17 in the PM ---I spoke too soon! After running the convection test, I left the house for a couple of hours and came back to find the oven making a noise like it was trying to run a fan but failing...very mechanical sound. It starts and stops, over and over and over. Unplugging the oven and plugging it back in does not stop it.So after having this particular oven less than three hours I have already had to call GE and schedule a repair appointment. Not a happy camper!I'd rate this 5 stars if the convection temperature was precise, but since I'll have to remember to adjust temperature upwards by 25° for recipes, I'm knocking off a star.

Nice microwave except keyboard glitches and is inoperable
Nice microwave except the keypad glitches and I can’t use the microwave no matter how many times I try to reset it. Nothing happens. Very frustrating.

11 minutes later - darn near perfect steaks! 2nd time we put in 3 fresh ...
Only had it 2 days, but wow can this thing cook and the video's don't lie! First time I put 2 NY strip steaks in it. 11 minutes later - darn near perfect steaks! 2nd time we put in 3 fresh ground hamburgers straight from the fridge, dialed in the speed cook setting and in 8 minutes we had absolutely perfect well done hamburgers. I'm not a fan of well done anything primarily because it get's dried out, but these burgers were cooked evenly all the way through and were still moist. Yeah - it's cost a lot - but so far it's worth it!

Forget customer service! GE does not stand behind it's appliances
My $1500 unit was installed July 14, 2018; after a few uses, I noticed what appeared to be staining on the interior walls of the unit. I wipe my unit every night after I finish my dishes. I've only reheated and never cooked in the unit. It was not food; it was embedded in the stainless steel. I tried every way to clean it, even with a Magic Eraser. GE calls it heat discoloration or tarnishing in the warranty book, and it's not covered because it's "cosmetic" and doesn't affect the performance. My 12 year old 9240 was PERFECT when I had to replace it because the electronic board was no longer available; it had no scratches, etc. and certainly no "heat discoloration or tarnishing." I can't stand looking into what looks like a dirty microwave oven now! My other 12 year old GE appliances all still look almost brand new.I will never again purchase another GE product. Never! The customer service rep, Portia, offered to give me a $790 credit toward another 9240, but what's the point; I'll loose $700 and have the same unit. They all tarnish, and these new units now have open grills underneath the glass turntable and if something spills and goes in there, there is no way to clean it out (the old unit had glass over the grill on the bottom.) The repair tech said "it'll just burn off." Really????!!!So don't bother buying this microwave/convection oven. GE customer service does not exist and the unit looks awful inside.

Handle breaks
We replaced a 10 yo advantium with this and although it works perfect we are now replacing the handle for the 2nd time in 6 months. There is a design flaw in the handle because it needs a bit of force to open the oven because the latches are too tight. GE, you need to loosen the latch mechanism or make the handle out of a stronger material.
