Works for Yi dashcam
This rearview mirror mount works so well. I have a 2018 model Yi Dashcam mounted to it. The kit comes with a ton of dashcam mounts, which makes in an excellent choice to mount to a ton of different dashcams. My favorite part is getting rid of the suction cup. The suction cup mount falls of any time the sun is out, and is a pain. This mounts to the rearview mirror, and is solid as a rock. The pivot points are are friction, with a wing nut to loosen or tighten the mount. that is the perfect way to do it in my opinion. If this thing ever broke, id buy another. I like the design, i like the price.

Easy installation, comes with attachments to fit many brands of Dash Cams
Since I didn't want to glue the dash cam to the windshield, I looked into different ways to mount my unit. I thought about using suction cup mount but I read that they may drop when temperature changes. I am so glad that I found this rear view mirror mount that basically solve all my problems. It fits my Rexing V1 3rd gen perfectly. The installation is easy and hold the unit securely. No vibrations that I can see in the recording. It also came with many attachment adapters that would fit many brands of dash cams. This is a big plus as I can upgrade to a different brand in the future. The hinges that came with the mount allows many degrees of freedom so you can adjust the cam higher, lower and the leveling easily.

Works well with some patience.
This was a nightmare to install. It probably took me 45 mins because it's impossible with only two hands to hold everything that needs to be held. If you have a second person, utilize them for your own sanity. After I put it together I realized the fit with my camera wasn't right. My camera has a snap on the back, and even though there was an attachment that fit, it just didn't let the camera hang correctly at all. I ended up using the attachment from the original suction cup and it worked perfectly. So aside from being a pain to install, in the end I'm really happy I purchased it. I can now leave the camera on the mirror in the summer and not have to worry about taking it down every time I park the car for fear of it cooking in the sun and destroying it. And I was able to trash that horrible suction cup that never really suctioned.....thank you universe.

Doesn't hold position
The nice thing about it is that it came with numerous attachment for the different cams, so I was able to get mine to fit. However, it does not hold very well. I tightened the nuts as much as I could but after about 2 weeks of driving, the angle of my dashcam is always lower than where I set it. I stopped using it because I got tired of adjusting it, and ended up just using the adhesive to stick to my windshield.

Finally, a way to mount my dash cam so it does not fall whether hot or cold
I have had dash cams in my cars for a few years and really rely them to record what happens when driving the Southern California freeway, but it seemed ever window mount I tried eventually dropped off of the windshield. I live where it snows 4 to 5 months a year and do a lot of mountain driving. I can go down to the desert where it is very hot in the summer. Cold or hot I would come out to my car and the dash cam was hanging by its cord, but not anymore! The Universal Mount allowed me to select the correct adapter for my cam, position it on the arm of my rear view mirror and adjust the angles to give a perfect view out of my front windshield! It is on SOLID now. Dirt roads, ruts, hot, cold, day or night it doesn't matter, my cam is always where it is suppose to be. Save yourself some problems, get a Dash Cam for all your cars and mount it properly knowing you will have a record of any event should you need it. A good purchase.

Sadly It Didn't Fit My New Crosstour CR700 Dash Cam
I'm still going to give it 5 stars even though it was not compatible to my new Crosstour CR700 Dash Cam. I specifically bought the CR700 because of the size and the ability to attached it under the rear view mirror for stability, I thought. In the recent past I purchased another dash cam. I installed it with the suction cup and as I was driving the camera would come loose from the screw into the camera and swivel around. Frustration to the max. I tightened as tight as I could get it but it would not stay tight!!!. It is now in a drawer put away. So when I found the CR700 and the Dash Cam Mount was recommended I purchased. The problem for me is the CR700 has wiring that feeds inside the ball unit from the camera pin connections up into the suction cup section. Because of the wiring the Dash Cam Mount can not be used. The mount comes with a lot of ball selections too to use with other cameras. Wish I could have used it for sure (5 Star). I returned it today. I wish I had found this with the other camera. Maybe I'll purchase it another time if I want to dig it out of the drawer and tackle it.

Bulky and obnoxious
I wanted something to mount my dash cam from that would be less likely to fail from sun exposure. There was no way I could use this mount without risking being ticketed for obstruction of view. Even with one of the smallest dash cams I could find (that still has a display), this mount was problematic. Not only that, but the kit didn't have an adapter that would work with that dash cam! I wouldn't recommend this product. Just see if your dash cam's suction cup or adhesive mount sticks for you. So far, so good with my cam's included suction cup mount.

Good price and good product.
Suction power is one star as it is not applicable. Original suction cups lost suction after about a year. This kit comes with every imaginable piece to accomplish what you want. I attached my cameras to the stem of the rear view mirror which eliminates need for the suction cups, one less thing obstructing view through windshield and/or sun shades when car is parked. In one car, rather than the screws & wing nuts that came in the kit, I used black zip ties to hold the bracket together, in my truck, used the wing nut & screw. Both get the job done. Now having the camera right behind the rearview mirror means the buttons on the sides of the camera are more difficult to access...this has not been an issue with me as I can push mirror up out of way just enough to access what I need.
