Hollywood racks started in 1973 when we began making trunk-mounted racks in the back of our bike shop in Hollywood, California. Our Aim was simple: we wanted to make good quality products that were easy to use and came fully assembled. We earned a great reputation fast and soon began selling our racks to other bike shops throughout California. By the late '70s, we began selling our racks to bicycle companies such as Schwinn, Peugeot and nishiki. In 1981, we closed the bike shop and opened a small factory in los angeles, CA to exclusively make car racks, then relocated to a larger facility in 1988. In 1989, we began exporting our products to Europe, and in the 1990's we expanded our line to include racks for trailer hitches, pickup trucks and spare tires. We have since relocated our offices, R and d and us warehouse to our present facility in the los angeles area with manufacturing in Taiwan. Our products are available in all 50 States and in over 25 countries worldwide.

Quality, less expensive alternative...
Mounted to front wall of bed on a 2008 Honda Ridgeline. Very simple mount and much cheaper than the Yakima/Thule offerings. Mount uses 1/4" hardware. I removed the bed panel and used 1/8" x 2" flat bar to reinforce the area. Plan to buy 1 or 2 more to avoid using a hitch rack when not hauling cargo with the bikes. I got just this one to supplement a Kuat Transfer 2 bike hitch rack while camping. The only downside is that it is about 3/16 to 1/4 wider than the forks on my 20 y/o Murray. The forks are easily spread to slip on the mount.

Can't go wrong with this fork block!
I purchased two of these and mounted them to a pine 1x6x36" in order to create an interior bike holder for my 2006 RAV4. Refer to the photos--the second photo shows the Velcro hook strips that grip the vehicle carpet. My bike fits fine but I can see that for bikes for tall riders it would be necessary to remove or lower the saddle/seat post assembly (or use a larger vehicle). With an interior bike holder the bike is both held securely -and- well-protected from theft, vandalism and the elements. In any event, these fork blocks are great; no need to go with a costlier version sporting a fancy brand name.

Solid as a Rock
It was easy to install and keep front forks tightly installed. I used some electrical u-channel as my tubing after sanding, priming, and painting. Used stainless hardware to secure it. Solid as a rock.

Hollywood Racks - Flawless
I bought this fork mount for my pickup truck. I mounted a 2 by 8 and bolted this down using stainless bolts. I use it about 10 times a week or so, and it has held up well so far. It has seen plenty of humidity and rain but shows no sign of rust or corrosion. Hollywood Racks have proven to be high quality and comparable to the biggest name brands in bike mounts! I paid nearly half of what the more popular names ask for similar mounts, and most people that use mine like it better. The quick release lever is strong and seems like it will hold strong against the weather and every day sun exposure in the back of my truck.I noticed a couple of reviewers mentioned that the "axis" is lower than the handle. At first I understood.. but then thought about it for a minute. Just spin the threaded cap on the other side and tighten the lever upward. I'm happy enough with this that I ordered two more. This is an outstanding bicycle fork mount!

It works great..
I mounted this on a 2x8 board to install in the bed of my pickup truck. It works great...no issues. You'll want to use a cable or other locking device to provide some security.

pretty solid for the price
pretty solid for the price. made a homemade bike trailer with these by mounting them to the wooden deck of a utility trailer. the axle can be removed and i've left the main base outside attached to the trailer for about 1 year and they seem to be holding up so far...

Works great
This item worked great. While in Greece several years ago, I saw a couple people trailing their bicycles behind their motorcycle. With a little work on developing an attachment, I have been able to put it on the rear rack of my motorcycle trike and can pull my bicycle with the rear wheel riding on the road. Great if I am not traveling far.
