Kingdom of Heaven (Director's Cut) [Blu-ray] by 20th Century Fox by Ridley Scott

When Ridley Scott put the first cut of Kingdom of Heaven together, the film was close to three hours long. At the request of the studio, Ridley Scott reluctantly cut the film down to just over two hours, which unfortunately hurt the film overall.However, once the film left cinemas, Ridley Scott created the Extended Cut, bring it back to its original cut. The result is one of the best Director's Cuts ever created, possibly even the best. While Orlando Bloom isn't terrific in the lead role, he still does a very good job and is surrounded by a great cast including Jeremy Irons, Eva Green, Brendon Gleeson and Edward Norton. One thing Ridley Scott does brilliantly though is creating heroes and villains on both sides so that no side is truly good or truly evil.

Kingdom of heaven is a good film a very long film but it keeps you interest whilst watching it for me Orlando bloom would not have been my first choice.But he does a good job he is supported by some big stars like Liam Neeson and the wonderful Jeremy irons in the film Orlando bloom plays a blacksmith who finds himself involved with the crusades.He rises from nothing to a saviour of the people of jurusalem he gains the respect of the sultan and he saves all of the people within the city walls.The steelbook edition is wonderful it has three versions of the film plus many extras interviews, the steelbook itself is very nice on the back it has a picture of Orlando bloom fighting.The front has a shield with blood on it inside there is also pictures from the movie, this seems expensive you can purchase it cheaper on a standard bluray but for me as a collector this was a essential for me I would recommend it.

Ridley Scott is definitely a director of great respect for me he is still a Man that creates epics like the one at hand. From the sceneries, the Battle scenes, & a great array of actors!. This steelbook is definitely one for any decent collection, 3 versions 190-194- & theatre versions- 2Disc edition. The film itself is based on the Crusade & a steel smith portrayed by orlando bloom & by a twist of fate he finds out that he is the son of a Crusader of high respect- then because of a misfortunate happening, he is hurled into circumstances beyond his imagination. If you have not seen this check it out & I am pretty sure you will enjoy this classic to the full. Eva Green included

I'm not really sure how I should rate this. I have purchased two blu ray steelbooks of this movie and both have refused to play on my Sony blu ray player. Therefore, I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem? This is the first time that the player has refused to play any disc that I have purchased, including American ones and have had the player since 2010 - maybe it's on its way out. I am disappointed because I really enjoy this film. So five for the 'extended directors cut' movie, but obviously disappointed that I can't watch it.

This version is the best. Extra scenes fill out previous plot holes & some unanswered questions.Not 100% historically accurate but captures the mediaeval feel. Game of Thrones without boobs & dragons, but enough mad men & scheming women.Better than Robin Hood, on a par with Gladiator.

A fine adventure movie for an underrated film, with a terrific ensemble cast. Nice cover art on the steelbook!
