This scale has the fine, clear markings needed to read drawings accurately and it seems like it will hold up well on the work bench where the occasional tool gets set on it. The bonus ruler that comes in the box is of the same fine quality with good design. It has gradations down to 32nds for three inches, to 64ths for one inch and 16ths for the remainder of the scale. It is good design allowing for fine scaling where needed that doesn't clutter up the entire scale with fine markings. The metric side of the rule is similarly marked.
