The swim bouy is well made and would do its job well. Unfortunately for me it arrived when I was out and my dog unwrapped it. I think it must have been the smell as he doesn’t generally bother with post. I haven’t been able to use it as it has a few holes in it and an edge bitten off. 🙄 Thank you Arthur!!! 😂 I’m considering getting some large patches of pool repairer to to try to fix it. I would however, recommend the bouy as it is well made and would certainly do its job. It is however not puppy proof.

Easy to get started, very, very visible colour, essential in open sea environment. Takes a few seconds to blow up. Once you are swimming, you don't even notice it, in fact I had to look back occasionally to make sure it hadn't become unfastened.. The bright visible colour is very noticeable when swimming, our friend had an old diving buoy with him this morning, rather faded, deep red, with white stripe, and he was hit by a racing rowing bought, the boat didn't hit him but had the force to burst his buoy!!!!! He was very lucky, visibility is the key ..certainly helps. Great product.

Its a great bit of kit and made really well. Just one slight improvement for me and I would rate 5 stars. Ifbit had tiny shoulder straps attached so you could run with the buoy on your back that would be ideal. I run with my goggles inside the bouy to the beach i then place my running shoes inside the bouy and swim i then getbout the water to run the last part home. I hate running while holding anything so the shoulder straps would have made this ideal.

Great bit of kit. Its a quality item and great float. I never even notice it is there until I need a rest. I am swimming in the Thames as an alternative to the pool due to the Covid lockdown and this float is ideal.

Good size. Doesn’t create drag. Very visible. Good sized storage pocket but not completely dry - need to put phone etc in a sealed dry bag first. Belt adjusts well to different sizes

This item is extremely well designed, and of very good quality, the air valve has a safety screw top, the dry compartment and phone case are completely waterproof, all the clasps are very sturdy. I can't feel it when swimming, but it allows me to feel safe that boats will see me, that I have something to hold on to if I cramp and to swim wiht my phone and car keys.

Used the New Wave Swim Buoy for my first open water swim around Dover Harbour. A nicely made product that appears to be manufactured to last. It was a perfect size (15 litres) didn’t impede my swimming and was comforting to know I could rely on it to provide bouncy when needed. Great product and fantastic service from the supplier.

I am new to open water swimming and wanted a better sense of security and visibility. This did the trick on both. Also found my GPS watch tracked my swim a lot better when I hung it on the swim buoy rather than wearing it on my wrist.

It feels much safer to swim with the buoy and I tried a couple of time to see if it could support my weight in case of problem and it always did it perfectly

Took this out yesterday for a 2 mile swim in a harbor with lots of small boat traffic. I could be seen from a great distance as judged by people waving at me from boats. I would not quite say that I do not know it's there, it produces a very small tugging sensation as you swim, but it does not interfere with my stroke and is definitely very reassuring for ensuring visibility and providing something to hang on if you get cramps (as I do from time to time). Equally important for me is the ability to bring stuff with me. I stashed a pair of running shoes, energy gels and some electronic equipment in a ziploc bag and all seemed to work well. You need to be able to land somewhere to access your stuff, trying to take it out in the water would probably be a very bad idea. However, being able to swim point to point and have my shoes with me at either end, or stop off at a beach to refuel (and check my glucose levels, I have type 1 diabetes), opens up a lot of new possibilities. I found that when walking around the deflated bag could be effectively folded up and clipped to the side of the belt and was unobtrusive...the next step, which I haven't yet tested, will be to try to running with it, I've got some swim-run adventures in mind! To summarize my thoughts, this gives me the confidence to be able to do swims I would not otherwise attempt and I highly recommend it to any open water swimmer.

Very happy with this buoy. I am a triathlete and purchased this because I do some solo open water swims in a nearby lake. This will give me some extra visibility, as well as a "security blanket" if I need a rest in the middle of a lap. Fits very well on my waist. You don't even know it's there. In fact, I kept reaching back to make sure it was still there! It floats just behind your thighs when adjusted correctly and doesn't hinder you in the slightest. Great design and functionality ("dry" pouch for keys, phone, etc.) Shipped on time. Would definitely recommend for anyone who swims open water as a practice aid, either for visibility or just that extra boost of confidence in the water!

This buoys gave me freedom in the water! Yes I SHOULD swim with a buddy, but often my buddy is on the beach - not everyone likes 40 degree New England water in the winter. This buoys gives me visibility, flotation for quick breaks, and a place to store my keys and extra contacts while I’m in the water, and I can’t even feel it while swimming. I bring it with me everywhere, packs small too. Add a headlamp for evening visibility. Don’t feel especially safe around boats, but not willing to tow a boat-size buoey so I’m still careful near them.

I love my New Wave Swim Buoy. It does what it is supposed to do as far as allowing safety from boaters on the lake. Please still look and listen out for boaters who do not pay attention when they are out on the water which I have experienced. I did need to use it during my 1.7 miles swim as a flotation which works well.Overall, I think all swimmers need to have a swim buoy when they are out swimming on the lake, river, or ocean. You will not regret this purchase.

I've been using mine for open water swims. It's really a confidence builder to know that I've got something I can hang on to if something goes amiss. I put my keys inside, and they come out nice and dry. Plus this makes you a little more visible. This has been one of the best investments I've made in equipment for training for triathlons.
