Mixed bag. Lots of brightness for the money, but maybe not the best for trail running.
First impressions review. I wish they would allow ratings in half-star amounts, I'm giving this a 3.5 for now. Background: I have many headlamps over decades of hiking, mountaineering, biking, ski-touring, and trail running. I wanted a brighter alternative for more advanced trail ultramarathons, involving running rough terrain all night long.Positives: -The price is amazingly low for a light this bright, coming with lithium batteries, wall and car chargers. -The brightness is really good, even on the 'low' (only has 'high' and 'low', and rapidly flashing) is brighter than my older headlamps. -Battery life seems adequate. I'm now at about 7 hours of running on low setting, and it's still going strong. I suspect at least 4 hours on high, but have not yet tested that. -Glowing red LED 'tail light' on the back of the battery pack is good for visibility while road running. Negatives: -The head straps are pretty small, uncomfortably so for my (larger than average) head. Certainly too small to wear over a climbing or cycling helmet. I'm hoping that they stretch out over time. -The angle adjustment of the lamp has very few 'clicks' of adjustment that are each quite large, making it difficult to fine-tune it to the exact angle that fits best with what you are trying to do (in my case, line up exactly with the direction of my eyes scanning the trail ahead of me). -The lamp angle adjustment 'detents' (clicks) are very 'soft', easy to move. They could accidentally drop to an unintended angle when jarring over rough terrain, jumping, or hitting bumps on the bike. -The battery pack is somewhat uncomfortable against the back of my head. Combined with the fact that the headlamp is heavier than any that I've owned before, I don't know if it would be comfortable enough to wear on an all-night run. -It's much bulkier than my compact headlamps, and will take up more precious cargo space in the running hydration vest, before putting it on at night. If used in a supported race, it could just be left in a drop bag at an aid station and picked up before the night segment. -The connections for the batteries seems loose or frigidity. If there's nothing pressing against the inside of the battery pack (like the back of my head), the light dims considerably, by about half. If it's off my head and I squeeze the battery pack case, it brightens up again. -It would be nice to have more choices of brightness than high and low. -Waterproof claim feels a bit iffy for the battery case and charging hole, but I've not yet tried it in rain, so could be OK.

Mine did not work, Must be a bad BMS! What a shame!
Unit did not work out the box!Shame this did not work. This light's build is heavy and nice. The USB charge Port is in a cool place. "hidden"No tail light was sent with my light kit tho! So I can not comment about that light.I didn't need the Tail light anyway's. "No Biggie"Tested the 18650 Super Fire 2500mah, Battery. "China's worst made Battery" purple battery that comes with this Headlight.Battery tested fine on my battery charger. Showed 3.7v But battery was only 450mah, " Normal For Knock Off 18650's" My charger showed after discharge test. Then I thought maybe there is paper near or around the battery terminal springs, Nope nothing.I then took one of my 18650's "Samsung H2" brown battery's that I had. Tested the H2's voltage and it was at 4.2v @ 3586mah. Samsung battery did not turn it on either.I bet the BMS controller is messed up on this unit. This was going to go on my Drift Trike Bike that I am building, This light would have looked nice. I bought this light only for it's look as it would fit the style and theme of the drift trike. But I need the light to turn on and stay on!I plugged in this light with a Samsung phone charger and like 4 different USB cords.Xbox One Elite controller cord - No Go,Samsung phone cord and charger - No Go,Wireless charger 2 different ones - No go.The charging light comes on when plugged in and lights up green, But that's all it does.I think the BMS "Battery Management System" is messed up on this device, But that's my thought's.Took 3 day to get to my house, if you count Sunday as one delivery day.Good Luck

Narrow beam
This makes a poor bike light for someone that needs to commute in darkness on unlit paths. The beam is extremely narrow. It seems to be bright enough and the throw is far but it is a very focused beam. I need a good light because I am working the night shift at work and if this light doesn't light the trail good enough I'm sending it back.I do like how it comes with a headband so you can use it off your bike. The narrowness of the beam isn't an issue here and it is very bright. It is however on the small side and with it at it's largest adjustment it barley fits me.The bike mount is also a weak point, it doesn't get very tight and instead of a quick release it uses a 3/4" camera screw. This makes me think the light itself wasn't really designed for bicycles, narrow beam and this connection does not really make a good bicycle light. This is the second cheap bike light I have gotten, the first one just quit working and if this one doesn't work out I am just going to get a $40-$60 bike light. If you ride your bike a lot it is worth the extra money for a high-end light. Just remember to take it off your bike, I have had a few stolen so I am weary about spending a lot but when safety is involved a good light is needed.Oh, and the freebe it comes with, the rear red light, uses button cells so it is completely worthless. I have a high end Cygolite for my rear light that lasts for months and is rechargeable so if I end up keeping this light I will just donate this to the bicycle collective or give it to a child.

Incredible build quality
Both lights are exceptionally well made. It even comes with batteries (18650 for the main light and 2 CR2032 for the tail light). Your mileage may vary on the other pieces in the kit, the bike mounting pieces are plastic or rubber. But the quality of the lights are so good that I will hack some way to attach it to my bike when the plastic mounts break. The main light seems to use a method of attachment to the mount that is similar to how a camera mounts to a tripod so it shouldn't be too difficult to use hose clamps and a bolt. You could probably epoxy the right size bolt to a hard hat and use it like that too. I highly recommend this light. Btw, the total weight of the two lights, batteries, and bike mounts is 186g.
