DharmaCrafts Zafu and Zabuton Set (ZZSet) Meditation Cushions

DharmaCrafts was founded by some Zen students in 1979, and they have been making quality meditation items since. The zafu and zabuton are made of heavy cotton duck. The zabuton has cotton stuffing that is contained within a separate liner which can be easily removed to clean the cover or to add or delete cotton. The zafu has an exterior zipper which when opened reveals an inner liner, also with a zipper. The liner can also be easily removed to add or delete the buckwheat hulls. There was no leakage of buckwheat through the zippers. Both the zafu and zabuton covers can be replaced if need be--DharmaCrafts stocks them. These two cushions are solidly and meticulously constructed and could last a lifetime, or two. We shall see about that.The price is a little high compared to the competition, but in this case you clearly get what you pay for.My only (very minor) complaint is that the zafu seems somewhat understuffed. It contains 4.5 lbs of buckwheat hulls, which is standard for zafus, so I'll just buy some extra to accomodate the design.

The Zafu and Zabuton was not only comfortable, I sat upright perfectly with my legs crossed. The instructions that came with it was very straightforward. There was also a card in it explaining life, death, and spirit: A very beautiful, mindful card accompanied with great packaging. When I left the room this morning with the Zafu and Zabuton in my bedroom closet, I believed I heard a singing bowl.What a blessing.I was very happy the shipper took great care in the delivery. This Zafu and Zabuton arrived well-packaged, in new condition, and on time. Together they are very comfortable and supportive, and I am enjoying learning to meditate using them. I had trouble getting in a comfortable position before I bought these, and my meditation sessions were mostly spent trying to ignore the discomfort I felt in my knees and ankles. Now I can sit comfortably with good posture and really benefit from the meditation session. They are very nicely made, and I bought the buckwheat hull Zafu, which is firm but not hard - very comfortable.

Arrived soon after purchase. I love that it's made in the USA. The quality of the Buckwheat filled Zafu is unbelievable. This will last me a lifetime. The Zabuton is cusioned just enough to be comfortable and not overfilled. I ordered the regular size and it is more than enough room. Thank-you for making my Vipassana experience more enjoyable. (The Box it arrived in was a bit caved in on the top as if a heavy item was placed on top while shipping. Inside the box, both were inside a big plastic bag, so if any holes or rain happened in shipping, they would have remained dry. I ordered the BLUE, and I am glad I didn't order the purple, because the Blue looks brighter in real life than in the photo. I LOVE IT! Buy it, it's a piece of furniture you will use for many many years to come. The Duck fabric is strong and impenetrable.

I've finally arrived at a time in life where I could afford this amazing Zafu/Zabuton set. In my younger years I could sit and meditate on a rock, a yoga mat, a wooden floor. In my late 60's I am so grateful for the support and comfort of these meditation cushions. There are well constructed and I look forward to my daily sits.

I like the quality of the meditation cushions. The zabuton is great for relieving pressure on my feet. The zafu is a good height for me, and the stuffing provides a stable seat that holds me in position without applying pressure.

I got the jumbo for myself and the regular for my partner. They're great. Slightly different craftsmanship from the ones at retreats but I love having these for home, sitting regularly and just when I want a quick sit just because. Couldn't be more pleased.

This is a very nice pillow. The firmness is just right, nice size and makes me want to meditate. This is the first one I’ve owned and I’m very happy with it.
