Atlas of Adventures: Wonders of the World Hardcover – October 2, 2018

I purchased this and another book by the same author for my nephews for Christmas. I developed a life long love of travel by reading about the wonders of the world in encyclopedias. In today’s world few families have access to them. This book is exactly what I was looking for to unlock their curiosity for the world. Can’t wait to read it with them!

My 2nd grader has been very curious about interesting sites around the world and this was perfect. We read the whole book together over a few evenings and now he is going back and reading it again on his own. He enjoys the artwork as well. Highly recommended for inquisitive youngsters.

This book is beautiful and massive. The size of the book makes if difficult to fit onto a bookshelf but the book is filled with fascinating facts about the world and gorgeous illustrations.

I bought this for my grandsons bday. He loves adventure and learning about new places and things. He loves this book! I highly recommend for the curious minded youngster!

Wow, this book is fantastic! I love it as much or more than my kids. It makes me want to see all of these gorgeous places more than ever!

I feel like this book could have covered so much more but it's still nice. Even just one page per each place would have been more than enough, and doubled the informative capacity. Unsurprisingly European heavy.

So much to explore! Got a great deal on it and shipping came much quicker than expected. My kids love exploring the info filled pages.

My son loves this book as bedtime reading! We read about a few different wonders each night, and I'm learning a lot too. Gorgeous illustrations.

This series of books are my 3 year olds favourite. We've all learned so much. Nice little snippets of information all over every page explained really well. Pictures are beautiful.

5歳の子ども用に購入しました。残念な点は4つ一つ目は、地図上の国の形が不正確すぎる(特にアジア)。出版前に誰も気にしなかったの？というほど変形している。二つ目は、各エリアで取り上げている遺跡等のセレクトが魅力的ではないこと。北アメリカから無理やりデスバレーとヨセミテを選ぶくらいなら、他の地域(例えばあんなに大きいのに完全に、スルーされてるロシア)から世界遺産を選んだり、中国から2つ選ぶくらいなら日本の城や寺を選んで欲しかった(残念ながら、日本はロシアと陸続きになってしまったため、ロシア共々スルーされたのかもしれない。)ちなみに日本は、富士山とスキーのイラストが付いているだけなので、いかに勉強不足(もしくは日本に興味が無い)かが分かる。三つ目は、セレクトした遺跡等についての解説が少なく、子どもの何で？やこれは何？に答えるものが無い。四つ目は、絵が何を表しているのか分からない。地図上にこれ何？というイラストがあるが、解説もなく何を指しているのか分からない(ので、自分達で調べようがない)。また、マリアナ海溝深海の生物としてタコが描かれているが、タコよりもっと取り上げるべき生物いるよね...と。全体的にデザイン重視で(子どもに対してですら)中身が無い。編集者の知識不足なのか、意図的にそうしているのか分からないが、同社の他の出版物も買うのを迷うレベルです。ビジュアルは目を引くので、カフェ等にデザイン小物として飾っておくのがいいんじゃないかと思う。

This book os massive so be warned! It is amazing though. I love sitting with my girls and going through the pages. It is so full of colour, images and information that even us adults are drawn to reading it. Fantastic book to engage kids into the wonders of the world.
