Roll Out Poultry Nesting Box for Chickens - 3 Compartment - 2 Pack

I also bought some wooden eggs as well and put one wooden egg in each box. The hens love these boxes. Unfortunately, they love them too much. They sleep in them as well as lay in them so I constantly have to clean them out so they aren't laying their eggs in filth... but it's a small price to pay. Even the roosters sleep in them! The boxes were priced well, sturdy, easy to assemble and they are doing the job I needed. When I need more next boxes as I grow my flock I would consider buying these again.

Purchased 4 units in spring of 2019, assembled ok. Pieces needing to be bent back into place by hand should have been my first clue that these are too flimsy. Assembly process is ok. Hung them in coop and was thrilled at first. My hens took to them quickly. But then I started finding one tray unhooked from the back and tipped forward...with broken eggs inside. Thinking it was a one off, I replaced the tray double checking that is has engaged with a click in the front and back. The next day, same thing. Next week it was two trays, and overtime all of them with some even falling onto the floor. I have different pens for my hens for different breeds. I don’t have any extra large breeds (like Orpington or brahmas). Some are even small lightweight breeds. I took a box down, I checked that screws were tightened etc all is ok. What isn’t ok is the strength of the metal when met with the leverage created by a hen jumping up onto the green roosting portion. It causes the back lip to lift, the front lip to lift and the side tracks to lift all allowing the tray to disengage and tip forward or even fall out. Eventually the whole thing is worthless. I contacted the sellers, who basically drug things out asking questions, then asking for pictures, then asking for videos, all to tell me too bad I must not have it assembled right. I am NOT the only one with this experience. The seller is simply reselling a product they are not making. Other amazon vendors are now selling this same product and have the same issue noted in reviews. I now have four worthless triple nesting boxes and am out the money. Oh, and all the broken eggs caused by the trays tipping resulted in my hens becoming egg eaters! Please please buy a different product. (I dislike leaving bad reviews. I gave the sellers ample opportunity to remedy the situation with a part or something, but they refused.)

Bought these for my elderly mother because her chickens were pecking and eating their own eggs. This worked perfectly as the egg rolls down into the hidden tray!Edit: purchased in Feb 2019 and by Nov 2019 the nests are falling apart. Can’t find info to see about a warranty.

I used nesting material in my nests to make my hens more comfortable in making a transition to the new nests. They are just starting to use them regularly. If you use nesting material, the eggs will not roll. I originally order these because I had a dog that was stealing my eggs. I have since gotten rid of the dog, so that problem solved, I opted to use the nesting material. Under cover to keep the nest area protected from rainfall, these would work great. At the present time, I don't have that option, and since the backs are open, the nesting material gets wet during a rain, and the hens don't like to go back to them until they are dry. Fortunately, the nests' construction promotes air flow, and they do dry out quickly. I have about 50 pullets that will begin laying in a few months, and I will probably buy more of these nests to set up for them. I recommend the product but suggest mounting it in an area protected from the weather.

I ordered these because I have a couple of hens that break/eat their eggs and I have tried everything under the sun to break that habit without success. Also my nesting boxes were always nasty and stinking from the egg yolk. These boxes work like a charm. I have been using them for approx. a month. I have only one or two eggs broken a week, (because I have persistent hens ) but the yolk slides through the holes in the bottom and no mess to clean up. All of my eggs come out clean in the tray. I would highly recommend these boxes for anyone with the same problem.

I purchased these boxes because of the clean presence & overall stability they appeared to have. Stability is decent, maybe a smidge more flimsy than I was anticipating. Overall I am happy with the sturdiness & soundness of the product. Assembly took approximately 25 minutes In total for both sets. My biggest complaint on these is the cosmetic wear that was on these when I received them. There are scratches all over the green roof & for the cost of these boxes I think that should have been considered a little more prior to packaging.

I love my new nest boxes. It's so nice to able to just lift the lid and grab the eggs. I hated reaching under a hen to gather eggs. They also stay much cleaner with the slotted bottom so grass etc falls through. I do wish that the stand wasn't so expensive. We ended up making our own.

These do not roll away.
