Great Album. Its not Enigma music though, not even close.
Every song on here is enjoyable, if you like 80's synth trash pop. Cretu was having a hard time finding his groove back then so some albums are great and some are terrible. Invisible Man was also a good album. Waterfall is my favorite track on Belle Epoque. Search on YouTube for "michael cretu genius from 80s" to see all the music he wrote, produced, engineered throughout the 1970's to 2000's. It's totally unrecognizable to Enigma, but amazing that Enigma came out of somebody with such a pop background.

Great European Pop Rock with Strong American Style...
This album was a thrilling surprise ! It definitley had an American pop-rock sound to it with a slight European edge for the late '80s. Very little resembled or only hinted at the future Enigma project from Michael Cretu instrumentwise (keyboard player and co-writer for Belle Epoque). At times the vocals by Tissy Thiers could only be compared to Jon Anderson of Yes; It takes a little time to get use to his vocal style (which fits in great with the style of Belle Epoque). Best tracks on the album are the rock pumping Mona Lisa, up-tempo "Footloose" like song Crazy Life, and the opening Flamenco guitar flavored Captain Right. This is one of my all time favorite pop-rock import albums. Belle Epoque deserves 5 stars !
