Good quality. Required reading for any budding book binder.

I thought this might be good for somebody who is just getting into bookbinding, but in the end I found it wasn't as instructive as expected. It describes the types, attributes, pros and cons of the various techniques, but it's probably better to seek another source for how to actually execute them. I gave it 3 stars because of the word "guide" in the title, which implies they will teach you how to do it. It's probably a good reference for somebody who knows the techniques, and needs a project planning reference. The information in the book is good, but does not match how the book is marketed.Ironically, the binding of the book I received is broken. Not the Author's fault, but I think it was the fault of both the printer and handler. My rating isn't effected by this, but I think it's funny to mention.

Beautiful book and very informative

This book covers a great deal of different types of binding as descriptions, however technique and step by step instruction to assemble books is lacking. If you have just a general interest in the methodology, then this book will deliver. If on the other hand, you want instruction or how to, then this is not the book for you. This book only briefly covers different types of binding and shows you illustrated clip art, but there is no technique on how to set up, and stitch them together. Same with gluing, this book shows where the glue goes, but not how to glue it. The book is nicely bound.

As a budding hand bookbinder, I was truly disappointed. The information on having your book commercially printed is excellent, but of no use for anyone printing or self publishing or rebinding. I will keep it as a reference, but of no other value for me.

This book is stunningly beautiful. Great graphic design. More of a reference book than a tutorial manual.

El libro está bien, pero no es un manual para aprender a encuadernar, sino sobre tipos de encuadernación industrial. Si lo quieres para hacer tus propias encuadernaciones en casa no es lo que buscas.
