I didn't want to be unfair, so I gave this three stars. I'll explain why. I bought two of these for a great value. It shipped and delivered fast and on time if not early. The packaging wasn't the best, It was a solid black color which I liked and the cords weren't flimsy. They seemed sturdy and had the potential of holding up well. I gave one to my mom and kept one to myself. Hers WAS charging and then she showed me how when she plugs it up, it says "Accessory not compatible to device". So her iPhone is basically plugged in and not even charging. Mind you, these are two cords and they're supposed to be exactly the same. Mine was charging and then one day, and I feel like as SOON as my mom had issues with hers, I was having issues with cord, mine would charge, but only sometimes. My phone was low so I plugged it up and it stayed plugged up all night. I wake up and it's 91%. I unplug the cord and plug it back into my phone and it charges (or so I thought). I get on Twitter for less than 2 minutes and it drops from 91% to 88%. I unplug and replug the iPhone charger a second time. It goes to 100%. I had to look up something on my browser for a minute, the phone supposedly "charging" because I still had it plugged in" and it drops from 100% to 91% WHILE STILL PLUGGED UP. My phone even showed the lightening bolt symbol meaning it's charging, but apparently it wasn't. I know you get what you pay for, but that doesn't excuse the fact that the packaging could have been better. That could have been helped the moment it left it's first destination which is no fault of mine. Sorry I had to give this a three star rating, but I'd rather be honest and blunt and give you a 3 star than to give it 1 star and not have a good explanation as to why I gave it one star. I'm trying to get a refund on both cords, but they're telling me they only want to give me half of a refund. I know the cords were cheap, but if a product doesn't work, it doesn't work and a refund should be given. The cords must have been bad before coming to me because they don't even want them back and offering me a refund without me having to return the products. I'll just stick with my 3 ft cord for $5 at a store up the street I've had for at least 2 years and it charges lightening fast and it's not even the original manufacturing cord that came with my iPhone. I won't be making anymore extension cord purchases. I feel they're all coming from the sale seller, just a different name and location.

I am bummed about this charger! I previously ordered it and loved it. Then the plastic pulled back and began to unravel. To be expected with the way all of these chargers are designed. It is the go to charger in the house as it charges fast and it is long. So I ordered the exact same one from my amazon account BUT the one I got is not nearly as long. It is 6 ft instead of the 10 ft that I ordered. In short the charger works and I will say it lasted over a year and it worked until the very last thread inside was hanging on. Definitely got my moneys worth the first time.

The simple idea of having a long iphone/ipad charging cord is so basic yet so rewarding when you have it in your possession. Everyone thinks this is so cool . I can finally charge and use the device while lying in bed or having it reach areas more than 1 foot away from the wall without hovering near the outlet or being stuck in one area. Also, if your car has a USB charger you can easily charge and use the device in the back seat of the car, now that's cool. 10 FEET. But , since this is not an apple product I am scared it will break down faster, as many other reviewers have stated. I will use this very delicately but it seems to be working fine. It charges Ipad and Iphone in the normal rate as the shorter wires. Pretty happy so far, if it breaks down I will come back and write about it. Just don't be rough with it or pull on the wires when they are charging. I LIKE ITEDITED 1/12 STOPPED WORKING TODAY> GARBAGE TIME, DONT BUY

I ordered this 10 foot charger cable a few weeks ago and I really love it. I use it on my ipad 2 and my new iphone 4. I think that it downloads a little faster then the short ones, but that might just be my imagination since I don't keep looking at the clock to see when it will be done so I can disconnect the cable. The little shorties made me feel as if I was practically sitting next to the wall balancing my ipad on my knees. It wasn't that bad, but close. I plan to get another one for my bedroom. I think I'll get it in red andput that one in the living room. The bright colors are easier to see. I have already gotten the cord accidentally wrapped around my ankle and would have tripped if I hadn't felt it there. So all of you out there with numb feet and ankles, BE careful! I would and am recommending this to a friend~all of you!

The cord is long and black as advertised, so I'll give it that. The cord works as you would expect when it comes to charging iPhones. When connected to my iPad, I get "Not Charging" in the upper right hand corner. When you turn the iPad off, it actually does charge -- it just won't charge while it is in use. I bought two of these cables and they both behave the same way so I didn't get a bad cable, and I am using them with a stock iPad charger so that's not the issue either. I guess there comes a trade off with additional length. The wall outlet I use in the bedroom is a good 6' from my nightstand, so the length makes it possible for me to leave a cable plugged in all the time and charge each night.

I bought this to use at work, as I like to run my iphone down to under 10% before I charge it again, and sometimes this happens at work. First, I treat the cable with respect in that I do not run over it with my chair or pull at the ends or sit on the ends when it's not in use. The cable stays plugged in behind my computer and I pull it out when needed. I actually have an Iphone 5 now and the adapter I'm using worked seamlessly with this cable. The cable is about the thickness as the original iphone cable and the connections are strong within the cable. I have it plugged into my work computer through the USB. Takes about 2 hours to get back to 100%.

I ordered this to have a longer cable to charge my iPad 1. Works well for this purpose. Many longer cables that I have ordered that says they charge iPad's do not do so. I am happy with this cable so far. Have been using it for about a month. Takes 3 weeks to receive product, but may be worth it to get a product that works.
