Katie and the Sunflowers

I bought this book for my granddaughters. We were in Amsterdam this spring and I saw this book in the vanGogh museum. It was easier to order it from Amazon then to pack it in a suitcase. It's a charming little book. Our granddaughters are 4, 6 and 9 so it is perfect for them to share.

Have gotten all of the Katie books and also given as gifts. Pages are heavier than a standard book and cover is nice and durable.

Really cute story with beautiful illustrations. I use it with my low grade art class to introduce post impressionistic artists. Fun combination of real and make believe catches the imagination of the kids. I was not happy with the condition this book arrived in, pages were bent and stuck together.

I bought this book to add to an Art Classroom library I am building. This book includes art, adventure and a little magic, great for younger kids to have fun learning about art history.

James Mayhew's series about Katie is just wonderful. It is a beautifully illustrated way to introduce art to a child. Using real masterpieces to enhance each story, the reader is transported to a world previously undiscovered. And visiting museums afterward will never be the same! I highly recommend the entire series.

Katie collection by James Mayhew is worth to keep in your shelf for your kids. It’s Katie’s adventure to the museum, meeting a lot of painting characters and also their painter. I found the price of this book is cheaper from Amazon than the other websites.

My son (6) loves this book. His class had been studying Van Gogh at school and he'd enjoyed Katie and the Starry Night, so I got him this one. He enjoyed it just as much and has requested repeat reading at bed time - a definite hit! The illustrations are beautiful. A fun way to introduce children to art.

Pictures are enjoyable and the plot of the story is not what we can easily imagine and surprising!

Love reading James Mayhew's books to my grand daughter. Such a lovely introduction to the art world for young children.
