I would recommend you study pictures and some online instructions before assembling
It came in about 10 days. Two boxes, one with motor and another with parts all inside a larger box. No directions. I was prepared for this after reading the previous reviews. I would recommend you study pictures and some online instructions before assembling. I mounted it on a 15 speed "Montana" department type mountain bike. I've had this bike for 20 years. Obstacles to overcome; (1)I had to grind down the crank gear as the original bike crank was a three sprocket thin chain gear. Removed front crank derailer (2) I thinned the new gear down with a 80 grit 3M Roloc and a die grinder. (3) Rounded of the drive gear teeth as mentioned in previous reviews. (4) Had to drill new mounting holes on the mounting platform to fit my bike. (5) Had to shorten drive chain. (6)Needed to buy fuel line hose clamps. Engine started and needed no tuning adjustments. Have ridden several times. Seems to cruise effortlessly at about 20mph. With me and bike it's moving 250 pounds and has no problem with moderate hills. I don't want to go much faster as the existing rim bakes will struggle to stop it. Will consider upgrading brakes if wanted to seriously make stopping safer. Overall, I knew what to expect. If you have to have tools and common building skills, this is a fun project. I just ordered a large comfort seat. The motor kit was on my bucket list and my family helped me get it for Christmas. I may ride it and get it out of my system and then give it to the grandkids, but for this summer it's mine. Would have given it 5 stars if it would have had enclosed instructions.
