I LOVE everything about this leash! My puppy is almost 4 months old and we've already started using it. She's still learning her manners on the leash and pulls a bit, so I like the "give" that the bungee extension offers to reduce shock for both her and me (she's an american bulldog/pit mix so will only get stronger!). She hasn't tried chewing on it, but the material is very sturdy and durable. I also like the fact that it extends to allow more slack when walking her. As a puppy, she is flopping all over the sidewalk so the longer extended leash option is perfect for her curious roaming while still remaining tethered. The traffic pull close to the clasp is also a great safety feature for stopping at crosswalks before crossing the street or holding her back from jumping on other people/dogs out of excitement.If I had to make ONE small change/suggestion, it would be to use a different kind of clasp other than the bolt snap. My dog was trying to crawl under a chair while on the leash and the bolt snap lever was being pulled open on the leg of the chair - it didn't come undone, but I can see how this type of clasp could snag on an item and potentially release from a harness or collar. Maybe a marine hook or wide push gate snap hook? Just a suggestion to keep in mind!But aside from that, this is honestly the BEST combination leash I've come across and I hope SparklyPets continues to make this product! It really has everything you need for leash training and convenience of walking your dog, right down to a little metal loop to hook your poop bags to! Very thoughtfully designed and executed. I recently purchased the Heavy Duty Rope Leash w/ Anti-Pull Bungee, as well as the Heavy Duty Rope Leash for Large and Medium Dogs with Anti-Pull Bungee for Shock Absorption-Special Edition Adjustable Leash, which I am reviewing here.I am a volunteer dog walker at my local shelter, Central Dakota Humane Society (CDHS). As such, I walk all types of dogs on a daily basis. Most are strays with little or no training, and some of the bigger, stronger dogs I work with can be challenging to walk at times and hard on the body.I have never used a bungee type leash before and I am amazed at what a difference it makes. When dogs pull or suddenly lunge forward the impact is greatly minimized. The same holds true for running with dogs who like to stop without warning. It certainly makes it a lot easier on my shoulder and lower back.The SparklyPets leashes appear to be very well made and durable. The bungee portion is an extension that can be removed, used individually as a short leash, and features a built-in handle that folds onto the leash and is held in place with velcro when not in use. The handle also helps control the dog when the situation demands, such as crossing the road or passing others on the street.Another great feature is the adjustability of the leash. Our shelter dogs are required to be walked with two restraints and two leashes for safety reasons. Some dogs use two collars, one being a type of choke. Others use a collar and a harness. It takes mere seconds to adjust the leash to its proper length. I always attach the non-adjustable leash to the choke collar and the adjustable leash to the other collar or harness. I make the adjustable leash just a little bit shorter so that it takes the brunt of the pull.So far I am very pleased with my purchase. Of course, only time will tell how durable the leash is. Should my initial assessment need updating I will certainly do so.

Best leash ever!!! I hate to say this, but I had to stop walking my 7 year old VERY enthusiastic Golden Retriever due to her excitement over everything... leaves, shadows, bugs, you name it. She’s well behaved just very excited. I could control her on a leash but that initial jerk literally had me on the verge of shoulder surgery. So I went searching for a solution and found this! LIFE (or should I say shoulder) SAVER!!! She can now jump out of her skin at whatever strokes her fancy that day, and I can still go home and not need help getting my coat off!!! Seriously though this leash really does act as a shock absorber. I also like the adjustability by what extensions you use. The traffic handle is very helpful as well. Must buy for any big dog owner.

This leash..... has changed everything!!!! We have a big pitbull great dane mix that doesn't realize his own strength lol.. He thinks he is a chihuahua in regards to his size. Walking him by myself was such a struggle before (I am pretty short and only 110 pounds and he is about 90 pounds of muscle, so you can imagine) but after getting this I can walk him by myself now. I always had to have my boyfriend do it when he got home but not now! Such a relief. The bungee part of the leash helps with the pulling and the leash clip for the front just helps have that much more control. As soon as I took my dog on a walk with this leash I commented "whoever invented this is a genius" lol! I am seriously so grateful :) The handles are comfortable and dont cut into my hands which is a major plus for me since I have pretty sensitive joints in my hands from RA. Getting this along with an appropriate harness for this style of leash has been one of the best decisions we've made for our dogs.

The secondary traffic control handle broke after 3 walks. Stitching is inadequate for the stresses and strains of controlling a large energetic dog. Very disappointed.
