Replacing LG 5220FR2008F Water Valve

We have been dealing with cold water washing for sometime. I replaced the hot valve but the cold washes persisted so I saw that some folks recommended replacing both valves as a preventative measure. These valve replacements seem to have worked on this 12 year old machine. The other thing I did was put the machine in to test mode and go through all tests. This also seemed to help get us back to the possibility of a hot wash. I think we'll be able to limp this along for a while now. Thankfully, it's in the garage cause she still leaks a little every now and again.

Installation was easy. Unfortunately, two ports leaked as soon as I turned on the water (see pictures). In addition, the valve should be "normally closed" until the controller sends a signal to open it. This poorly constructed part had the valve open out of the box and would not close, causing the same issue I was trying to fix, but right out of the box. I am so disappointed and wasted my time off from work to fix my water inlet valve issue, with a piece of crap. You get what you pay for... I should have known better. I'll be buying the more expensive part that appears to be a true OEM replacement part... Extremely disappointed!

there are 4 inlets, the two "rear" should be parallel and pointing in the same direction (as in the picture). The one I received had the two rear pointing in opposite directions. The issue is the hose on the far inlet doesnt quite reach if the inlet is pointed away.Im trying to decide if it is easier to return it or buy a slightly longer hose. Ugh.UPDATE: returned and had them send another. It was still the wrong part.

If you're looking for this part, you know why you need it and what it's for, so no need to talk about that. I can say that the part that was shipped looked exactly like the part it was replacing, installed precisely the same as the old part, and works perfectly after being an absolute snap to install (one cover removed, and about two screws removed to replace it after you disconnect the solenoids and the tubing, which are pretty easy to label and reconnect to the right ports. :) Absolutely recommend the part at this point in the process. :)

Great replacement part. When you order you should look at your current one. Open that machine. I made the mistake of going off the modle of machine and found out the hard way there are two different options fo my michine. But great replacement part.

My front load washer went out with an error code. I researched it a little and found out it was some kind of water intake valve. The manufacturer wanted $100 for the same part! This one was $30 and took about an hour for my 21 year old son and I to install. It works perfectly!!! Kept me from paying a fortune for a repairman or a new washer!!! Seller shipped quickly and the item was identical to the manufacturer's part.

Worked just fine. Was not hard to install. Plenty of instructional videos online. I watched a couple. Then, it as a piece of cake. Didn't even take 10-minutes, start-to-finish. This was exactly the same as what was in the unit. Perfect match. No issues. Loved it.
