ID Knives Scales for Spyderco Manix 2 (Grooved Surface)

I waited a few weeks to form an opinion of these scales before I wrote a review. First and foremost, the fit and tolerances of these scales are outstanding. Same dimensions as the factory scales. The manix 2 can be tricky to disassemble and reassemble but these scales made it easier. As for carrying them, they provide an excellent amount of grip and feel very nice in hand. You can't get better micarta scales for the price. Oh, if you are a lefty like me, both scales come drilled for the clip hardware(most customs do not).

The scales look good, and they fit (decent). The fit is the issue for me. I dont know if I just got unlucky with these, but one of the scales lanyard hole is too big which in turn doesn't allow the lip of the lanyard tube to hold the butt of the knife scale securely, it might even be both, but my clip screws hold down one side. The side without the clip pulls right off the frame, leaving a noticeable gap. I remedied this w a black chicago screw I had from a belt, but I shouldn't have had to, esp not for $50.Again, this might just have been my particular scales, but buyer beware. Other than that issue, all screw and pivot holes lined up nicely and the look and feel of the scales was pretty good.

Typically I try to be a good buyer and will fill out feedback when I feel good about a product and the seller sends me a friendly reminder but I sought out an opportunity to write a review for this product with in seconds of installing it on my knife. The fit and finish is excellent. There are no gaps visible to the frame and the cut outs for the screws are straight as a laser. I cannot overstate what the scales did for the ergonomics of the knife and the visual gives the appearance of a high end custom piece of art. If you like the look but have reservations about the quality of the product, have no fear. Theses fit as good (if not better) than the OEM scales that came on the knife.

They are fantastic, fits perfectly and feels great in hand, best part is They're drilled for left hand carry which is nice to see on after market scales. I like them so much that I ordered a set for my PM2.

I have not yet seen a picture that does justice to these knife scales. Most pictures give the appearance of a roughly finished scale. They are not. These scales have enough texture along with the grooved surface to provide all the grip you will need along with a comfortable almost soft feel very much unlike the stock Spyderco scales sandpaper like textured G-10. It feels like a slightly textured but worn oiled wood. I love the feel. Fit and finish are perfect. There are no gaps between the liners and the scales and they are flush to the edges with all holes in alignment. If you cannot tell from all I have written, let me just say, I love these scales.

These scales are awesome! The look and fe add a whole new dimension to the Manix. I love the feel and grip these scales bring to an already amazing knife.

The scales look and feel fantastic. The fit is perfect, and the factory screws are perfectly flush. They look even better as they age and wear. I love the feel of these in the hand.

Great look, perfect fit. Love the knife, hated the purple and this is a great set of replacement scales.
