Really pleased
This guitar surpassed my expectations. Its easy to play and the sound is fantastic. I read a lot of reviews, all of which were very good. However I purchased a parlour type guitar (Martin Dreadnought Junior) about a year ago which similarly had rave reviews and i was a bit disappointed with that. I am in fact quite surprised how good the Blueridge actually is. Having worked close to three guitar shops i spent some time in the past trying out lots of different makes and had rather come to the conclusion that paying a lot for a guitar didnt really get you anything much better than you could get for about £400. This purchase has completely changed my opinion on that. The BR-160a is apparently a copy/clone of a Martin HD-28 with Adirondak top. Those originals market at about £3.5k as new. Reviewers who have both guitars say that the Blueridge is comparable. My experience would confirm that.

Gorgeous Tone
I tried a BR160 in a local shop and really was very tempted to buy it but kept reading reviews saying that if you can spare the extra cash for the Adirondack top version, the difference in tone is quite significantly warmer and that it gets better the more its played. I can't testify to the breaking in aspect but the A variant definitely sounds more open and warmer than the standard version I played. Both guitars played extremely well, I like the very very slight extra width on the nut with this version as it helps hide my finger picking rubbishness. The action from factory is not bad, especially nearer the nut end but it's a bit high near the body - I'll be taking mine in for setup.Overall a fantastic guitar, I'm very pleased with it and highly recommend it. Looking forward to it breaking in over the next year!

Great sound, great looks, great value!
Amazing instrument. The woods are all really good and have beautiful grains. It's well made, well finished and beautifully designed. And more important of all: sounds absolutelly great. It has lots of overtones from the rosewood back and sides and some crisp highs alongside really bassy basses! Its a unique instrument. Not at all the same guitar as the Martin HD-28 it tries to mimic. But it doesnt mean it's any less good. Its just a different musical instrument. It's really similar to the martin anyway. At least soundwise. My only complaints would be that it came with a absoltelly terrible action on the strings, but i think that's due to the time it spent on amazon's warehouses and the weather change it has been through during the last months from the factory until it got to my hands. The other thing would be a tiny tiny almost unnoticeable flaw on the finish right at the guitar neck-body joint. The stain they apply on the rosewood to make it look darker kinda finishes before the neck, which means they left some small area around 1.5 to 2 mmm thick of unstained wood. But it took me a lot of atention and patience to notice the first time anyway and i always forget it is there.Overall an amazing instrument. I don't even have to say "for the price". It is a great guitar itself!!!

Great guitar
So impressed by this guitar, not keen on look but the sound is real quality. Found it a bit jangly but eventually put on d’addario EFT16 less bright string sounds great and balanced. This is awesome value in a classy instrument
