this story is great i took off one star for this volume being released missing 2 issues that are important for the storyline.STAR RATINGS: Each product is carefully reviewed in an unbiased manner. It has mistakes in the product details or description and does not live up to what it advertises or normal customer expectations. It is still now worth the money.3 Star: This is a neutral rating. I could take it or leave it. It met the product description and details for the most part but isn't something I am ever likely to order again. It could have some really cool features, An awesome looking design, Or maybe it’s just a killer deal. But overall the price of the product is not worth it.4 Star: I like this product. This item has met all expectations, The design is sound, The build is great and the product does what it was made for. It’s a great product that i can recommend buying. However it didn’t completely wow me. It does what it is supposed to do.This is what most products fall under.5 stars: Wow! This item is amazing, I absolutely love it, it is an exceptional, impressive product. Not only does it meet all expectations but it’s a product that’s well made (designed, formulated, composed, etc) and lives up to the product details and description. It exceeds normal consumer expectations.

Spawn is classic in many ways but I believe what he stands for is more important than his stories. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, McFarlane became a comic book superstar due to his work on Marvel Comics' Spider-Man franchise. In 1992, he helped form Image Comics, pulling the occult anti-hero character Spawn from his high school portfolio and updating him for the 1990s. Spawn was a popular hero in the 1990s and encouraged a trend in creator-owned comic book properties.This collection is great because it encompasses so many of the original books as compared to the more recent collections. Of course, issues 9 and 10 are left out because McFarlane contracted Neil Gaiman to write Spawn #9 and Dave Sim's #10 which introduced the characters Cogliostro, Angela, Medieval Spawn, and Cerebus. All four characters continued to be featured prominently in the series after their involvement, and had many tie-ins with McFarlane's toy company. After a few years Mcfarlane ceased the payment of royalties and gave them notices that he owned all rights to the characters, citing the copyright notices and claimed that their work had been work-for-hire and that McFarlane was the sole owner which turned into more lawsuits. Gaiman and Sims were eventually given soul rights so we'll never see those issues in any collections of Spawn, but if you look for the original issues online they aren't hard to find and aren't that expensive.

Todd McFarlane is a wonderful talent artist and has a great creative story ideas with his comic book Spawn. I really enjoyed it. I have the Spawn 1 and 2 the graphic novels of the original comic book. They both are great. Todd has a good scene of humor with the story and comic. I collected the Spawn comics years ago when I was in High School and now I wanted to buy it again when I got on amazon when I was thinking of him after I bought the graphic novel 2 at a used comic book shop. Todd is a very nice guy. I have meant him. I plan on buying more of the Collections.

Better than i had expected.. also fast delivery and great quality of the book !! when i bought it "used" i thought it would have many scratches etc. but its like new ! thanx for this great book i was looking for around 2 years to buy =)

Always enjoyed Todd Mcfarlane's work. Glad to see they've complied it into these convenient volumes.

I always liked the idea of a bad protagonist and McFarlane does a good job of it. I started reading it as a teen and came into the series about 21 issues in so I'm glad for this to fill in the gaps.
