I bought this several months ago and have used it almost every night for 20 minutes while listening to an audiobook before I go to sleep. I like the length of this mat because I can lay on my unaffected side and wrap this mat vertically around my bad hip and leg (there is a velcro belt like feature that helps you wrap or secure this more tightly around your body. I like that it is so warm and soothing and automatically shuts off in 20 minutes. It did take a bit of experimentation to figure out the right light settings that felt good and provided just enough heat and relief.I did find that after using this steadily for a few weeks that I was able to fall asleep quickly and not wake up several times in the night due to pain and discomfort. It does take some time to figure out how to position it correctly for whatever body part you are using it for.
