Marttiini Classic Fillet

This is a replacement for a knife we lost. Previous knife was very long lasting. The wood handle is perfect for all different sizes of hands. The balance is near perfect. The steel remains sharp over long period of use. The tang knob is sealed. Scabbard is waxed leather and inside protected for knife tip. Great for fish and other meats that need a sharp blade for filet/scoring.

roughly finished edges, not even sharpening, terrible handle, looks like Chineese junk. I resharpened it, performs as a regular Cheneese knife, edge holding 3 out of 10, blade was curved side way. the only good quality in this product is sheath

I’ve had my Marttiini fillet knife for over 30 years - an exceptional knife by any account. Very thin, sharp, and light, the perfect knife for filleting salmon or any other fish or meat. Perfectly balanced, retains its edge for a long time and easy to sharpen/hone to razor sharp perfection when it occasion needs it (which is rare). Just bought one for my daughter. I use this knife to fillet fish, and it is perfect. Very sharp and very thin, it slides easily under the skin, for removal, flexes just enough to glide over bones when you are filleting. I made some gravlax the other day and it sliced the salmon so thin that you could see through it. I take it fishing and it is all the knife you need to gut and clean a fish. I came across this item on Amazon today as I was looking for one of these knives for my nephew. I bought this knife when I was his age and decades later, it is still perfect. Note: oil the leather sheath after you get it and it will stay supple.
