does it take out 99.9999 of contaminates including radioactive elements

In an independent test done last year, the Black Berkey filter elements with the PF-2 attachments filtered out the following:Uranium: 100%Lead: 100%Mercury: 99.8%Cesium: 98.6%Aluminum: 86.6%Copper: 100%Arsenic: 100%Strontium: 100%Cadmium: 100%The test they performed in this case was only for heavy metals, so it of course filters out much more than just these things, as shown in other tests. This just highlights the heavy metals. Hope this helps!

How often are filter changes required under normal city water conditions?

It depends on how much water you filter & how many filters you use (2 or 4). Also, normal city water varies due to local water hardness. We fill up the filter 1 to 2 times per day (usually twice) with 4 & change them every 6 months, but if we didn't have kids, our filters would probably last us about twice as long. However, this is still cheaper than other filtering methods we've used & does a much better job.

How does Calif prop 65 relate to this product??

There's plastic in it (the screws) so that sets off prop 65. The Plastic itself is safe but in the manufacturing some things are used that aren't. Prop 65 is waay too vast to be useful.

Do the black filters remove lead?
