this is a good holiday/plane read where you're looking for something light and easy to keep yourself occupied, but certainly isn't brain food - the heroine is pretty irritating and her decision about her boyfriend at the end quite inexplicable to me. I also found it very strange that as a professional Egyptologist with a PhD in the subject she'd never been to Egypt before... If you're looking for something better written with more of a flavour of Egypt try the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters

Again i had these book years ago, its a good read, well i think so, but its not at all scary unlike some of his other stories. I prefer the book better than the film.

I like writing style of Robin Cook. It involves in the story and you become part of it.Story was good and a bit different. I personally liked it.

If you like to read very detailed medical journals this will be right up your street.But a very weak and silly story line.

When I saw this book in the library, I picked it up immediately as I am both a fan of Robin Cook, and interested in ancient Egypt. This book is not a medical thriller. I'd say it's half way between a drama and thriller.I really enjoyed reading this book, and read the whole thing over two days. I could hardly put it down. I have personally spent time living in Egypt, and can tell you, Robin Cook has really done his research, making his Egyptian characters come to life, in the way that Egyptians REALLY DO think and act. Most novelists would miss this, as they don't understand the Egyptian personality. This really made the novel realistic to me. I absolutely loved the hereoine, and could really identify with her. I could imagine being an Egyptologist, and going to Egypt in her place. I also liked it that she stood up to her doctor boyfriend, had her fling there as well, and comes out in the end having learned a lot about herself, and about Egypt. A good mix of drama and adventure, sent in modern Egypt.

I was Surprised actually, at Just How Poor a Condition, this Book is in! It's Not that it's unreadable, No Far from that, but some of the Pages toward the back of the Book R really really Dirty, There is In fact a Rather Large Coffee Stain: I'd hazard a guess, Very brown, Very splotched, like all over: mixed throughout the say Last 100 pages of Copy, and It will definitely make the Story Harder to Appreciate? It is certainly a Good thing I have previously read this book many years ago: And as such I recall, how It winds down, so since I know the Ending: It is not that Important, that I re read, this poorly damaged section, to get to the Final Act etc: I will Read it, but my Pleasure, at reading 1 of the better works, of My Favorite Writer, Is going to be Greatly Diminished, due to these issues! In Fact It is only because I got such a Good Price, that I do Not return this Item, and Demand a Better Copy: Since I fully realize the book is pretty old, and not a Brand New Copy etc: Most Disappointed, in this Attempt: Thanx 4 Listening Cheers TRX15

Good book. Wish it had some historical basis and not pure fiction.The film script is more likeable, for me.

Great book to find and be able to read as it is not easily found....

Interesting read. Different than the usual medico legal fictions by Robin Cook

Very different to his usual exciting and suspense gripping stories. No late night reading one more chapter for this book. Disappointing read.

I enjoyed it even more the second time, lots of action, twists in the story.It was very captivating and showed that Erica was alone and could not trust anyone.

Another good story by Robin Cook

I have always been and always will be interested in Egypt, both ancient and present day. I found this novel great in that I have been to some of the places named in it. It came up with romance, thrilling escapades and a bit of ancient Egyptian history. Altogether a great read for me.

Print is a bit too small and blurred at some pages. Can read easily though.
