Drive Medical Two-Button Folding Walker with Wheels, Height Adjustable

Here’s my personal experience setting up and using the Drive Medical deluxe two button folding walker that I just got from Amazon. And I’ve included my own pictures too, to show you what I’m talking about. First, I liked that this Drive Medical folding walker came in flat box that was only 4” deep, which made it really easy to lift, carry up steps and into the house. It was also easy to open the box and slide out the walker. The walker is folded flat, out of the box, and the front wheels and back leg extensions are separated into plastic bags. Putting the legs on this Drive Medical walker was much easier than I thought. And I really love that I put the whole walker together without any tools! You just slide on the front legs (with wheels), and back legs, onto the existing walker legs. And you can adjust this walkers height by aligning the holes in the leg extensions with the locking button on each of the existing walker legs. Really, it was very easy to attach all 4 legs and adjust it to my height. As you can see, I’m pretty short, so I set my walker legs to the #2 position. Now, I gotta say, I was worried about how this walker would fit through my doorways & hallways. A few of my hallways are narrow and I was worried that this walker would be just too wide. BUT, here’s a very helpful solution I really want to share because I think it can help a lot of people: when I was reading reviews of different walkers, I found a great tip on [...] that showed me how to reduce the width of my walker by just switching the wheels! It’s a really EASY fix: just take the front left & right legs, with wheels, and reverse them. And you’ll see that your wheels are now sitting inside the frame of the walker. Not on the outside. By switching the position of the front wheels, I cut down my walker width by almost 4”! And now my hallways are not a problem. I found this easy fix on [...] I tried out the push button release, at the top of the walker, to unfold the two sides. I was happy to see that the red release button was easy to press down. I have a little neuropathy (numbness) in my fingers, so I have to avoid buttons or levers that are hard to press down. But I didn’t have any problems using the red release button on this walker to fold & unfold it. This Drive Medical Walker is light, but it still feels very sturdy to me. The 5” wheels roll smoothly and I don’t see that the wheels have made any marks on my floors. (That’s important to me.) The hand grips on this walker are cushioned and I think anyone would like the way they feel. I’m going to try this walker for a while, and if the neuropathy in my fingers flares up, I can just get inexpensive, even more cushy walker handgrips covers to help. All in all, I really love this foldable walker and I would recommend it to any friend of mine. I guess, the only thing that I think could be improved would be to clearly mark the legs with wheels to show that they should be put on the front of the walker. When I first put on all the legs, I put the wheels on the back. Wrong. It was my mistake, I know, and I could easily fix it, but I think the directions/packaging could have been a little bit clearer. All in all, I think this walker is a winner. In my opinion, it’s a great mix of quality & price.

The walker is easy to assemble, with strong joints and height-adjustment pins, and is durable. The walker provides stability to safely walk inside the home or outside. It easily folds flat to store in a car or check on an airplane. The rubber inserts in legs without wheels quickly wear and may scratch floors so recommend fitting walker with skis and covers or tennis balls on these legs.

If you or a loved one is looking for one for post surgery I highly recommend. My mother (64) had a total hip replacement and it helped her more than ever. The comfort of being able to adjust the height and it being sturdy and light for her to move around freely was great. It easily folds up for storage in any small space.

This is a review of the walker, “Drive Walker” by PreserveTech. Positives: • Being only 18 inches wide I don’t hit door jambs going from one room to another. • It’s lightweight. I assume that because it’s only 18 inches wide and doesn’t have double wheels on each front leg makes it so light. • Because it’s so lightweight and because it’s just 18 inches wide it makes it easy to maneuver the walker about. Negatives: As to the instructions – • They are short and written in three languages. This is great as a time saver for the company, but a real waste for English readers. Plus, there are only four pages for each language and they only show how to use the walker. • The booklet comes with no assembly instructions. For the legs there was a red piece of tape for one bag and a blue piece of tape on the other bag. I assume that each color designates which side of the walker the legs are meant for. Then say so in the instructions! I could find nothing about a color designation so I had to go back to an Amazon picture to determine if the wheels go on the outside or inside the legs. • The walker is narrow.....maybe 18 inches wide. Being 6’2” I hit one of the back legs constantly. It’s like those carts at Hobby Lobby – they are meant for shorter people. Observations: • The walker was well packed; both inside and out. • Assembly was easy. It took me about 15 minutes to put it together. It would have taken a lot less time had the instructions been better and I didn’t have to go to my computer to look at a picture of this walker that Amazon provided. • I may get used to this walker being narrow and walk differently so I don’t clunk into the back feet of it OR I may just donate it to a local senior center. A shorter person will benefit from this walker. I’ll then order a different walker that accommodates taller people who are close to 300 pounds. Final Evaluation: • For short people this walker is great, but if you’re over six feet tall be prepared to constantly hit your feet on the back legs of the walker. • Recommended but with an asterisk.

This walker is fantastic! I just had hip replacement surgery and this walker has been my lifeline. I could not get around without it. The wheels make it much more mobile than the walkers that lack wheels. The walker is very sturdy! I added a few "necessities". I added a remote light switch so I can turn the bedroom light off and on from my bed. I also added a carrying pouch that has proven to be so helpful. I put my pill bottles in it and my "reacher/grabber" that folds for convenience. I also added ski-type feet to it to help it glide and a coffee mug carrier. Seriously, buying this walker is definitely worth every penny! I'm beyond happy with it, even though I hope I do not need it for long. It sure is a life changer right now!!

Very sturdy and being able to fold is great. Had rollers and they are cumbersome and hard to maneuver in small bathrooms. This is simple to handle.

Great walker! It’s lightweight, sturdy, and very nicely made. It’s easy to maneuver and feels stable and secure while in use. It serves its purpose perfectly and has been very helpful for getting around more comfortably for my husband. I’m very happy with the quality and would definitely recommend it!

This is very sturdy and very light. Perfect walker for my husband, who just had a back surgery. The installation is minimal. Just pushing in the pins into the slots for attaching the wheels and legs. Took me 5 minutes. This is an excellent product. I highly recommend it.

Lightweight. Durable serves the purpose it was intended for and the price is right.

My dad is 86, has weak legs and hip. He could walk but could also lose balance or get weak knees all of a sudden. This works really well, and it's nicely constructed. It's so nice, I'm likely going to keep it for myself to use when I have weak knees.
