Powers of the Psalms (Occult Classics)

I've noticed some strange reviews, some stemming from people not being familiar with the 1611 King James Version of the Bible, complete with its thees and thous, which this is based on. Certain dated terms are used often, such as referring to God as 'terrible', due to 'terrible' originally referring to something awe or fear inspiring. Also, this isn't the Necronomicon or some spooky scary demonic book... please cleanse things you bring into your house, especially those brought in through the mail and have been touched by dozens of people and touched thousands of other equally-handled packages on their way to you. Not only is this good spiritual practice, but it certainly can't hurt your health :) Moving on... To say I highly recommend this book is an understatement, the week and a half that I've had it and prayed with it daily have felt lighter in and of itself -- but I wasn't really planning on writing a review until blessings practically smacked me in the face yesterday. It's been a dry spell for my freelance illustration work and I've been struggling with my physical health due to not having the finances to cover my medicine. I turned to this book for help - following Riva's Psalm recommendations I prayed fervently, and I kid you not, two days later I received two large illustration commissions that have put me back in a comfortable position, especially since I can afford medication again. Blessed in so many ways in such a short time! If there's anything I could gripe about it's that the formatting might take a moment to get used to (see the image where I've boxed in which is which), but it's tolerable in the face of how this book can help you. Both the contents and index contain Psalm guides based on your need, and each Psalm has a small amount of commentary beneath from Riva explaining how you can best use it. This is immensely helpful if you're scatterbrained like me and draw blanks on how or what to pray based on your situation. The conclusion contains prayers and segments of prose/poetry that are especially meaningful and inspiring. Regardless of practice, belief, or even level of religious zeal, this book's a must-have, 100%.

This is a must have book for hoodoos and people who need to focus on uplifting their thoughts. This book has some very powerful rituals as well as powerful verses to speak in very specific times. I found a prayer for musicians an artists! Any situation you find yourself in, this book has a prayer for it. Didn’t know Psalms could be so diverse.

I absolutely love this! The Psalms as they should be used and as close as one can get to the traditional usage, and very wonderful psalter to have in hand. Because I use them daily, I un-binded my book and put it in page protectors and 7 ring pocketbook so it lays flat and can be used during daily practice, but always have extra ones handy. Highly recommend!

I dont see anything demonic about this book, if you ask me, I think this book is a liberation for Christians who to be set free from demonic attacks. Christian's who have been all over the places seeking prayers and those who spent almost everything to be heal should buy this book. There is no demon in this book, but rather the demon in you could get angry before they leave

Even though it is evident that this book has more of an esoteric approach to the Psalms (which is why I purchased it), it is a resource that can be used by anyone who knows their power. The Psalms are for all intents and purposes as collection of poems, songs, and prayers, which work well as spells. Much of what would require otherwise complex spells/rituals/procedures can be remedied by reading and excerpt from this collection. The problem is having immediate access to them when you need them; that's where this book comes in. It is highly portable, and provides an index where you can choose which Psalms you will read/recite based on your need(s). The author categorizes them in a way that makes it easy to go straight to what you need. Alternatively, you can use this book as a form of divination. Closing your eyes and flipping the pages back and forth until you "feel" the page you need to stop on. Then run your fingers across the page until you feel the next stopping point. When you open your eyes, that's what you should read/recite/meditate on. It's use is not lost on those who don't have an esoteric/occult background, this bookcan be used by ANYONE who needs a bit of guidance and/or assistance.

I am excited about reading this book. HOWEVER, I am concerned about 2 TYPOS that I found. In Psalms 66:3 & 5 on page 52 of THIS book, it says, “...How TERRIBLE art thou in thy works... and “...he is TERRIBLE in his doing toward the children of men.” Considering the other books that this author has written, I can’t help but wonder IF she forgot what type of book this is OR did she SLICKLY place those words there as a result of malicious intent. The book of Psalms (in the Bible) is a great book but I’m scratching my head and questioning the TRUE INTENTIONS behind THIS BOOK. I compared the Bible scriptures with what is printed. That is how I noticed the typo. Now I’m ready to dissect this book and find other typos. I’m sure that I’ll find more. I will be contacting the author or publishing company to report the typo. My 2008 reprinted edition was of very good quality and clear print.

I LOVE THE POWER OF PSALMS AND USING IT WHEN I NEED TO FOR MYSELF AS WELL AS OTHERS. LOVED IT SO MUCH THAT I GIFTED IT TO SOMEONE ELSE THAT NEEDED IT MORE. LOOKING FORWARD TO ORDERING ANOTHER ONE VERY SOON!!

The Kindle version is a badly scanned PDF, The book itself is iconic and treasured for generations which is probably why it was copied. A blog for Anna Riva is on the Internet and has portions of this book and also her many other writings.

This book is just as expected, fully scriptural and good for praying. I like it. It's not evil, it's based on holiness and prayers, I belive Christians can use it. The size, printing and bindings are also good

This is not the actual book I kindle, it is uploaded page copies, I cannot even read it, and you can see the copied page border lines this is ridiculous. And Anna Riva is the actual author, but you have another title front page and author advertised. This was a scam, and there is no way to get your money back.

I like reading the psalms.

Lovely book of psalms

Pleasantly surprised to be told to burn black candles on a verse for protection and stuff like that.
