this is a good text book, but if you can find the digital version it would be much better.

Can't highlight or use xray on my device, makes this ebook purchase worthless.
This review is more for the Kindle version for the book rather than the book itself. Furthermore, this poor review is due to amazon's kindle app's poor performance rather than the issues I have with this book (but since I had to waste 100 dollars to learn this lesson, the book gets the poor review as well as the app). I bought this textbook for a class I am enrolled in, deciding for the first time to forgo traditional books in favor of an ebook so that I may be able to study on the go with my mobile devices (since I am limited to two devices and therefore can't use it on both mobile devices as well as a pc). As for the devices I am using, I have a samsung galaxy note 3 and a nook HD+. While I realize that the nook is made by the competition, it is an android tablet and has the kindle app available for it (app developers can choose not to release an app for hardware which doesn't' support the app, in which case the app will not show up in the play store on that device. So by the app showing up in the play store, I naturally assumed there was support for my nook). I have purchased other books in the past and they worked fine on both mobile devices as far as reading is concerned. When I saw this book available for purchase as a kindle book, I got quite excited; I was able to save a few dollars versus the ebook available through the school (running on an app which actually works and gives a license for 4 devices instead of two). I was also excited to see the amazon page list highlighting and xray as features which work with this book. While, I can highlight and use the xray features on my phone, I cannot use them on my ereader (the main device I bought the book to read on). This may not be a huge issue to some, but the ability to highlight is a key feature which I need to have work as an integral part of my study process. This is the first and last etextbook I purchase from amazon unless they fix this issue and honestly, even then I may go with the competition. The other books I need this semester were purchased through a competitor and while the ebook is of the same quality, it actually works on all my devices (has the ability to highlight, etc) as well as giving me double the amount of devices I can have the book on at any one time (which is useful considering I have multiple pc's and mobile devices). It's a shame I had to give such a thorough textbook a 1 star review but if I purchase a book as a kindle book and the book's amazon page says the kindle version has features, I expect to be able to use said features.

I like that the chapters are not ridiculously long like other text books. They are consistently in the 20 page range, so you can easily commit a chapter a night even when you are busy with other things. Reads very easy too, I don't get lost in the details.

An easy to read book. While it was required for the course, it's still nice to have a book that reads easy.
