Personally, I don't know how I attached things before I found this stuff!
This is one of the products that I believe to be absolutely essential for modern life. I started using it as the little 1.5" strips they sell in molded containers at Office/Home Depot. I found it so indispensable that I ended up buying it in these 10' rolls. I'm just purchasing my third such roll. The thing that makes it much superior to Velcro is in it's ability to withstand horizontal sheer. For example, I always use it to anchor computer peripherals like USB hubs. When you mount a USB hub to a surface using it, you can plug and unplug USB device cables using one hand (i.e., you don't have to steady it from sliding with the other hand). Velcro kind of works, but Velcro has a tendency to unfasten when you apply too much horizontal force to it. This stuff remains very rigid. Also, it is much easier to get the plastic protector off the adhesive side of this than is Velcro. I'm currently an arthritic 60+ guy with very short fingernails. I can never get the backing off Velcro without my wife's help. This stuff, no problem! I've been using this stuff (and the similar but less rigid hold 250/250 3M product) for over 5 years and I have never used Velcro again since I first tried it. You probably wouldn't want to use this as a clothing fastener because of its overall rigidity (in that case use Velcro), but if you want to fasten something securely to a flat surface (even one that is not smooth) this is the stuff to use. The rule of thumb in deciding between the 400/170 and 250/250 products is susceptibility to horizontal sheer. For mounting things that hang or have a tendency to slide (like a smooth-bottom USB hub on a Formica desktop) the 400/170 product is better. For mounting something that gets removed regularly, like a radar detector on a car dashboard, or the opening flap on a rifle cover, the 250/250 product is probably better because it is easier to separate the dual-lock attachment..

Handy, useful, and strong removable fastener
This is very handy stuff. It forms a solid link between the two mated sides. The product is sold in two "strengths" (or more), with one pack as one 170 dot strip mated to a 400 dot strip and the other pack as two 250 dot strips mated together. They control the strength of the hold, and also how easily it can shear (intentionally), to separate them. I bought the former. I'm not certain what the best ways are, to leverage the differences in the strips, but I used the 400 dot side on the "fixed" anchor point (the thing that doesn't move, like the wall, fixture, etc), and used the 170 dot on the "movable" part (the piece you want to occasionally remove). It has a good solid hold, yet releases with appropriate tension (and direction of motion). The glue on the back can be a bit finicky to work with. While it will definitely make a good solid hold, you have to really prep the attachment point and make sure it's clean. Pressing down firmly on the strip, in multiple spots, and holding tension is important. There are some surfaces it just adheres to poorly (like varnished wood), while it does great with (smooth) plastic, glass, and most metal. A little patience goes a long way with it.

Holds like a charm! Military grade worthy!
The adhesive doesn't just sticks to a surface, but it will actually bonds to a surface. So be careful what you put it on! I attached it to neoprene and it actually boned to it! Very impressive. As for the locking feature of the closure it's self- this stuff is easily military grade, meaning it can say sealed even when attached to heavy pieces of equipment, in dusty and adverse conditions. IMPRESSIVE!

Like glue
Works great. One thing I learned (I haven't used this stuff much) is that the two rolls included are the two sides. . . I foolishly thought one roll could be used until it was gone and then move on. . . . no. Each roll is half of the locking strip and you need to pair them up.Once I got my dumb out of the way, this fastener strip is holding a 10lb light stick in place.

Good adhesive extremely strong bond to itself
This stuff holds on tight when you push it together, I am very impressed. Very strong bond tight and good adhesive on the back as well so that it sticks to most things

Worlds Best fastener In a nice clearish white
I love this stuff velcro cannot hold a candle to dual lock in any way. prep the surface well with alcohol or cleanser make sure its completely dry and stick. The adhesive is amazing, in cold weather I may run a lighter a few quick times over the adhesive to get a better bond. when both sides are bonded well this stuff is hard to get off all though if you needed to remove it, grabbing a corner and working slowly will remove the dual lock with usually no residue or damage to the surface. If your going to be using this on a surface that's delicate that you might need remove later, for instance a dashboard test a small piece in an inconspicuous spot. Dual lock Temporarily holds two objects together super securely yet gives you the ability to remove to detach with ease. Waterproof, weatherproof, works in all temperatures, and cleans easily if the surface should get dirt on it. Other companies may make a similar product but there is no match for 3M. You get a lot for the price. I have bought it in black many times now I bough clear for situations where I don't want it to show as much. It does have a white tinge to it though, not a big deal for me just pointing it out.

Good for a multitude of uses
We use this in our 5th wheel to hang our quilted curtains over our windows. We first tried using ordinary Velcro but the curtains would eventually fall down after a period of time. So we started looking for something else.Important notes:- This stuff is NOT normal Velcro. It is not technically hook'n'loop.- It is NOT soft. It's very hard and not flexible at all. This probably wouldn't work to sew into cloth material since it's very thick.- This material is basically two types of plastic that connect to each other. The strength of the joint is very strong.- When the material separates it does it suddenly, unlike Velcro which tears apart relatively slowly. It's great stuff for hanging things around the RV so that it won't fall during transit.

Stronger than Closed-Loop Fastener (Velcro)
Extremely strong and doesn't pick up debris like standard Velcro. Note that this pack has two rolls, one is stronger than the other, and are intended to bond together. The stronger roll can also bond to itself for even more strength. The weaker roll can bond to itself, but it is not a very strong hold.
