Good book for the novice
I have done extensive reading on the subject of sasquatch/bigfoot and was aware of most of the material covered in this book. That said, I would still recommend this book to someone with little or no knowledge of the subject. If is a good introduction to the sasquatch/bigfoot subject, and also to similar ape-like animals from other parts of the world. The photographs and drawings, however, were much too dark, and a few maps would have helped.

Sasquatch is it real or not
I have the rating as the book kept me wanting to read more and have liked the story about Bigfoot and would let people know about the book of they want to read about bigfoot.

Good coffee-table book
Good coffee-table book. Thesis about Bigfoot as American Ape is dubious, as there is ZERO fossil record of apes in the New World. Why can't these people get this through their heads? There are no known apes in the New World. End of story!

most of this book is a rehash of older stories that's why I gave it 4 stars but it was a nice read for a rainy day and I did pick up a few things I didn't know or had forgotten.

Informing Material
The author gives vast information about the subject. He is impartial in his research. This book provides the basic knowledge on a difficult subject matter.

Sasquatch: True-Life Encounters with the Legendary Ape-Man
I liked this book. It isn't the first book on the subject for me, but I thought the author did an excellent review of the field. The book is both well written and well illustrated. In fact, I liked it so much I bought copies for friends who are also interested. Appropriate for the knowledgable reader as well as those starting their Bigfoot adventure.

An Excellent Primer About the Sasquatch Phenomenon
'Sasquatch: North America's Enduring Mystery' is probably the very best book about Bigfoot that I've read to date. Author Rupert Matthews has written a surprisingly comprehensive look at the various primate type cryptid creatures reported the world over for literally centuries.

Nothing new
This is a summary of 1990's knowledge on this phenomenon. If you're new to this subject, it might be interesting for you, apart from that, there is no research, no news or nothing that would be worth reading. An average enthusiast on this phenomenon would be able to write this book over a weekend.

GRUNT GROWN SCRATCH
This is a pretty good book that covers most bigfoot history from parts of the world. The downside is that he NEVER considers the phenomenon of Bigfoot might be ANYTHING but a huge hairy ape.

Bigfoot background
Liked the collection of old stories but didn't agree with his analysis on a few major points so it was a good summary of material but unnecessarily skeptical how about North american Eastern Bigfoot and yowie.
