If in doubt...
If you are at all in doubt about these, do not purchase the 8 pack before you've actually tried or used some like them in real life. I was afraid I would not like the way metal conducts cold, and boy was I right. The straws are uncomfortably cold when drinking anything chilled. Also, as you may have thought of (I did not) ...it is impossible to tell if they are actually clean on the inside. That said, the quality of the straws seems good, and the package comes with two cleaners which appear to effectively clean the straws. Although as I said, I have no idea how you'd really know without an autoclave or something.Bottom line, I wish I had just gone with the glass straws to start with, but for 4x the money it's hard to justify since we haven't tried those in real life either. If you know you like the stainless drinking straws, I don't think these will disappoint. If you aren't sure, see if you can find someone locally that has them to try before you buy.

Reusable and Easy to Clean!
The initial reason for my purchase of these straws was for drinking fruit smoothies and milk shakes. We make them often enough at our house, and I started to hate the idea of how many plastic straws we were tossing away. There are reusable plastic straws out there, but the two we had got quite worn and a bit disgusting after a few uses. After some research, I settled on these stainless steel straws (yes, glass is prettier and doesn't conduct hot/cold as much, but most of us who want to be eco-friendly aren't incredibly rich either).Personally, the chilly straw doesn't bother me. Yes, if you put the straw in cold drinks, it will get cold. I have not tried it with hot drinks, but I would assume the same thing happens. But, if you are drinking a cold drink, the straw doesn't get any colder than what you are drinking. It's just a matter of adjusting to the sensation of the chilliness before the liquid enters your mouth. The bend in the straw is perfectly located so that the straw rests against the side of the glass naturally and is angled for a natural sip.I run these through the dish washer (each stuck on their own individual spine on the lower rack) and they come out clean every time. Lovely reusable straw, and my daughter always finds excuses to use them!(Note: I agree with another comment. These straws have weight. While we do use them with heftier plastic cups, I would not recommend using them with paper or light-weight plastic cups, as they will tip over once the cup is empty.)

GREAT way to reduce plastic, easy(er) to clean (than you thought)
I really really love these straws. Got them a long time ago to use instead of plastic straws. At first, I thought the tilted head might be kind of annoying to clean but it's not a problem at all (even without the little cleaner). The bend helps a lot more than you'd think when it comes to drinking that smoothie in the car or what have you. It's a pretty thin diameter which fits most drink openings. It makes smoothies a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes, but it's perfect still. Would highly recommend to anyone because we could all use a little less plastic in our lives. As for cleaning, you just want to make sure you rinse it out after each use, so just in a bathroom at work or whatever would be fine. I find that that is usually sufficient (since I have long lost the cleaner :P). But the cleaner was the perfect size and worked great.

Great product, reduces waste.
My son insists on drinking with straws because he doesn't like having red juice mustaches. I on the other hand hate using disposable plastic products which are environmentally unfriendly and potentially unsafe with food. These straws are perfect. They are stainless steel so they are dishwasher safe. They last forever so there is no waste. They have a curve like a bendy straw which is a must for my 6 year old. And best of all I don't have to buy bags of plastic straws every time I go to the grocery store. It came in 2 packages of 4 and each 4 pack came with a wire brush to scrub the inside which is handy. I know I said dishwasher safe but if you don't have a dishwasher or even worse, your 6 year old leaves the straw in a glass of chocolate milk over night, trust me, you are gonna be glad you have the brush. Cleans up in a jiffy.

6 years later, and then there were 7....
I've had these for a week or so, and we love them so far. I figured the 4 pack got great reviews, these would be just as good, and they are. I'm most pleased that they fit in my Guyot Backpacker bottle with the Humangear Capcap top. I think I might like a slightly wider straw for smoothies, but these should be fine for that, too. There are no grooves in the 'bendy' section of these straws, making them very easy to clean (actually I just rinse with water at the tap then toss them in the dishwasher. Simple.)Update... almost 6 years later and we still love and use these every day. One of them got lost (kids!), and sometimes they fall through the fork basket into the bottom of the dishwasher, but otherwise they are no trouble. They also fit in 24oz Tervis Tumblers and fit through the drink hole of the Hydro Flask flip lid.

Great straws. Has saved around 500 plastic ones and counting for our family.
We have had these for 6 years now and use them all the time. Mostly we use these for smoothies. Our kids and I tend to use them with stainless steel glasses and my wife uses them with her yeti. They are great. We have given them as gifts and if we were to lose ours we would buy again without a second thought. We do rinse before stuff dries on the inside and also we have a little brush that we typically run through before going in the dishwasher.

nice straws
these straws are great for reusing, wash in the dishwasher, and also come with special pipe cleaners. if you want to be ecofriendly, this is a good option that also looks great. i have previously bought similar straws at a comparable cost that were slightly better quality and thicker. if i didnt prefer my old ones, i would give these 5 stars.
