I can't vouch for windows 8, if that's what you are running, since I haven't tried the keyboard on a windows 8 machine. It's a killer keyboard. **Q: What is the difference between an IBM PS/2 Model M and a Lexmark PS/2 Model M Keyboard?** A: The IBM keyboard that I have with a 1990 date has removable key caps (nice for cleaning or if you want to use a non-standard layout like Dvorak). My Lexmark keyboard from 1993 does not have the removable key caps. Also the IBM coiled keyboard cable has a round cross section and is removable. The Lexmark coiled keyboard cable is not removable and has a flat cross section. My IBM keyboard has a gray 'IBM' logo. My Lexmark keyboard has a blue 'IBM' logo. Space bar and one of the other keys stopped working.
