I bought this for my 2 year old (she's usually ok with 3-5 year old suggested age) but it seems like it would be much better for 4 years and up. It's a great story but as another reviewer mentioned - complex story line with difficult vocabulary for younger children. I tried to make my own story and have her look at the pictures, which often works for books that are for older children. However, the pictures/scenes just didn't hold her attention. I don't want to give it a low rating though, as the story itself is great but I would have liked to know it wasn't going to help my 2 year old understand anything about Thanksgiving.

Good alphabet book for Thanksgiving.
Great for 2nd and 3rd graders. The use of alphabet and matching words were excellent. The illustrations were well done and matched the rhyme. Informative, but I kept feeling like an undercurrent message was trying to force its way through. The information about Thanksgiving was good, yet since a comment about the clothing was made, it would have been a perfect opportunity to mention why clothes were the author said the clothes were bright and the belt not silver.

Better than Expected
I used this for my class of 5th graders before we got our for Thanksgiving. Initially we thought it was a “baby” book, but they loved it! And it turned out to have a 4.8 AR reading level! I served Mayflower Munch afterwards and the kids enjoyed the book and snack.

Cute book. I didn't realize it wasn't a story. There are just words related to thanksgiving and their meaning. My 5 yr old thought it was ok. After a couple pages he seemed to be over it and wanting to move on to the next book. Maybe next year he will be more interested.

Cute!
Purchased this book for my 3 year old...love that it goes through the alphabet! The content is a little geared toward an older crowd, but the rhyming nature helps my little one stay interested.

My 4 year old liked this!
This is an extremely cute introduction to Thanksgiving for toddlers. My 4 year old REALLY enjoyed it because the story was told through the alphabet, making it very fun. The story was much to long to hold the attention of my 2 year old, though. I really enjoyed the pictures (which show children in a play of Thanksgiving, a very clever way to illustrate to children the story). The theme of giving thanks and equality is evident and engages the child through fun rhymes!

Great book!
Its so difficult to find a good book about Thanksgiving, and this is an easy to read and understand story. It's presented as a school play, and is written in short rhymes and in an A is for ... format. The illustrations are lovely and engaging, and there is a fair amount of history snuck into the story so the reader (even adults) may learn something. At then end there is a short summary of the whole story that older children could enjoy.

No está mal...
No está mal. Va diciendo cosas sobre thanksgiving repasando las letras del abecedario pero no te cuenta la historia ni nada como yo quería...Quizá es algo pequeño también.
