These types of watering spikes can work with any kind of plastic bottle. 2. Choose the right size bottle for your plant and pot to avoid overflow. 3. To avoid leaking please cut the plastic ring around the mouth of the bottle. 4. To avoid the valve sticking in the soil and losing sight of the drip rate you can turn the valve to point UP with no problems at all. - πŸ‘Œ πŸ‘Œ We keep it honest – When the watered soil gets soft it may tilt. Also 2L. bottle may overflow your tray and make a mess, so we advise using it for pots with bigger trays. The tray will fill up anyway just the drip system will delay it by 1-3 days and give you the longest time of moisture if you are absent. It's almost impossible to match your sucking and evaporation rate with the dripping rate, so your underpot tray is the buffer. - ✈️ Great for vacations - By watching the speed of the droplets You can adjust how long it will last. You can use 12 oz. to 2l. bottles. It usually slows down with time so you may have started with a higher and tested it a few times before the best results. - 🌱 Better for you and the plants – By using the self-watering spikes you avoid under or over-watering, keeping the plants healthy. Please keep in mind, that you need the right adjustment. The tricky part is to match your drip rate with the plant's need, tray size, and evaporation rate, especially in summer and in direct sun. - β€οΈπŸ’² Love it or get a full refund - Thank you for your trust! ## Images ![Upgraded Adjustable Automatic Watering Spikes. When I first filled my bottles and screwed them on, they stopped dripping almost immediately. After a few days of messing with them, I finally decided I should go back and read the instructions. Wouldn't you know it! The physics of water were not suspended with this item; you DO have to punch a hole or cut a slice out of the tops of the bottles to prevent a vacuum from being created and ensuring the water will still flow.Once I realized I was still bound by earthly physics, my spikes and bottles have been working great. I discovered that if I cut a disc out of the bottom of smaller bottles or a slice out of a larger bottles, I'm able to fill them back up very easily with a pitcher, without disassembling the bottle and spike.Great product overall - just read the instructions. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars didnt work as expected *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2019* when i came back from vacation half of the bottles were empty and half still full. its also really hard to tell the water level that is coming out since there is no indicator. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Not adjustable to 1 drop @ 60 seconds *by C***L on Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2019* I returned these. Tested with a 2 ltr soda bottle and water. Could not adjust the drops to the advertised 1 drop per 60 seconds. Water just came out at about a drop every second or two. Thus 2 litres of water emptied very quickly, within hours. Would never last for at least a couple days. Useless for my needs. Easy to put together, easy to use, but unfortunately did not do what was advertised and expected. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/73992030-upgraded-adjustable-automatic-watering-spikes-indoor-outdoor-plastic-bottle-drip](https://www.desertcart.be/products/73992030-upgraded-adjustable-automatic-watering-spikes-indoor-outdoor-plastic-bottle-drip) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-10-27*
