I bought it to diagnose a problem with my old Ford Ranger and it did the trick just fine. Plugged it in and it powered right up, turned on the ignition hit enter and it scanned for the appropriate protocol to use. It read the code and actually said want the code meant, which I was not expecting it to do. It turned out to be a P0102 indicating a low voltage with the Mass Airflow sensor. After probing the MAF with my multimeter it was indeed bad.I'm sure most code readers in this price range have similar capabiltites, but this one was at a decent price point and I decided to give it a try. It sure beats having to go to the auto parts store to have them read the codes for you. ### ⭐⭐⭐ and overall is as good as more expensive models *by G***R on November 28, 2016* I've had mine since Feb 2015. Used it extensively on several vehicles. The unit works well, and overall is as good as more expensive models, although there maybe some that aren't as good. The only downside to this is that although everything says that the software is updateable, I have never been able to do a software update. The problems seems to be that the update program was written for Wiindows 95. So if you have any newer version of Windows (above Windows ME) this software will not even install and is useless. I've tried several times to get updated software, but until the program is written for Windows VISTA or newer you can't update it, unless you have an old computer with Windows 95/98. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Chinese knockoff, but works like a dream *by A***R on November 8, 2015* Takes a few seconds longer than my dad's $100 reader, but includes descriptions of error codes and functions perfectly. However, this product is clearly a chinese knockoff: the manual has some non-native phrasings and a .cn web domain that give it away, and "Xtool" appears nowhere on the device.
