I'd buy this again. And I just might.
18.99 a good price. Not a lot of high end, not a lot of low end, but about what one might expect from a tiny bluetooth speaker.I have to cycle power on it to get it to work every time, even though I leave it plugged into USB power all the time (not a real problem). If I open the iPad and it is using the local speaker, cycling the power (on the BB) makes it auto-connect to this speaker, which to me means they have implemented bluetooth pretty well. Not sure about the "collapsibility", but I am not carrying it around so I don't care. It does not seem to collapse to a smaller size, not does it seem to expand to a larger size. I am afraid I will break it if I force it, so I just leave that alone. There might be better options at this price; I did not research whether there were or not. But I have seen a lot worse at this price. I am pretty satisfied.

Excellent portable speaker, I take them everywhere.
Every person in my family owns one of these, and they're great! Portable, bright, great audio. I bring them everywhere I can. My only complaint is that sometimes the battery life can be sort of spotty.

BassBuds Stands Behind Its Faulty Product
Speaker purchased in green color via a Groupon deal in Feb. 2014. It's constantly been in use for about a year.Whether BassBuds has a great product or not, I really dislike it when a company defends an obviously faulty product and provides minimal consumer recourse. Note that the seller is technically not BassBuds, but Groupon. First, here is my experience with BassBoomz speakers:- Excellent sound, but this initial version of the speaker could have used a higher volume at 100% range. This issue was addressed with mixed results in the latest version of the speaker (i.e. resulting in high distortion at 100%... my sister bought the 2.0 version). The bass sound is the best of all the pocket Bluetooth speakers ($30-$40) that I have tried so far (Matrix One, Muse Mini and etc.). There was little distortion at 100% for the initial version.- The primary use for my speaker was outside, via laptop or smartphone. Unfortunately, laying the speaker on its side resulted in the lovely metallic finish being scratched off. It didn't take much movement either.- The Bluetooth worked very well via any device.Yet there were 2 problems that brought my rating down from 4 stars to 3 stars. At 100% volume (which was often necessary outdoors), the speaker only lasted 1 hour. From 70% to 100% volume, the speaker would move (note - the same problem exists with the 2.0 version). The speaker would vibrate its way across any flat surface on its own, despite the tiny rubber grips at the bottom. It didn't matter if I was playing classical or dance music. I got into the habit of bringing along a small towel to put under the speaker. Until one day, I forgot to do so. The speaker fell off a surface and onto a floor, resulting in the wire mesh top popping off. It wasn't possible for me to get it back on. The sound was affected and I contacted BassBoomz. After several e-mails, my postal mailed letter to London from the U.S. "for escalation" that they never received after 3 months and more e-mails later, the bottom line was that they didn't view the issue as a manufacturing defect. The bottom pads were not "suction pads" and the pads weren't missing from the speaker. Thus, no replacement speaker for me.They said, "... we cannot be held responsible for the item moving due to the power of your music."Wait... isn't your product called "Bassboomz"? Yet straight from the BassBuds' website, "With its durable, solid aluminium construction, vibration dampening and high grip base there is minimum interference when used on hard surfaces."Hmmm... seems like the height of hypocrisy to me. I'm not going lower than 2 stars on my rating, since I did generally enjoy the speaker and it still mostly works. Yet it looks like the search continues for an affordable, portable speaker that does what I expect it to do! It's a shame though.
