LuPro Set of 4 Fancy Chinese Porcelain Teacups

These tea cups look absolutely great, and come brightly colored as you see in the photo. My only problem with the cups is that they give off a lot of heat. I was a chef for years and routinely hear friends of mine say, "How can you touch that ... it's too hot," when referring to something I might be cooking, just to give you a reference about the heat tolerance of my fingers. These cups are uncomfortable to touch with water heated to a proper tea temperature (just below boiling). After a few minutes the cups will cool down enough to be comfortable, but that's just about the time you will be refilling them. I gave the cups 3 stars because of their looks and shape only. They look great, have no handles like traditional Asian tea cups, but unfortunately do not act like true porcelain enough for me to recommend them highly. Just after you've impressed your friends with your cool tea cups, they will burn themselves a little when they touch the cups.

I love these teacups. I had a set of white chineese bowls, teacups, spoons and saucers, but I used them with my kids and over the years they got chipped or broken. I needed not cups to fill out the set. I was excited about the different designs on each cup. They are a little taller than my two remaining cups in the set and that is great. My 1 and 3 year old grand children are living with us and they were so excited about them. These are VERY sturdy as the glass is thicker in these cups. Tonight WE had grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup, and I served the soup in the chineese cups. We are going to have so much fun with this set. The kids loved picking which color they wanted.

Just the right size and very pretty. They are not exactly uniform in size but this just adds to the hand made charm.

I love the cups!! Beautifully painted, The colors are brilliant ! They are for my daughter 'a Bridal Shower which she is going to Love!!!
