Product Description RectorSeal No. 5 is a non-hardening, slow-drying thread sealant made from special inert fillers dispersed in an oleoresinous base to facilitate its application to threaded pipe connections. Our pipe thread sealant is a soft-set, slow drying compound which seals, lubricates, and protects threaded pipe and fittings. RectorSeal No. 5 pipe dope thread sealant lubricates and protects pipe threads. Lead free and contains no metal. Permits easy break out with no damage to threads. For pipe made of galvanized steel, iron, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, polyethylene, reinforced fiberglass, and PVC. DO NOT USE ON ABS OR CPVC. For natural gas and water lines up to 2" and pressure up to 100 psi, the piping system may be placed into immediate service; other services are recommended 24 hours after application. **Q: Can it be used for LP gas?**
A: I bought it for my new Natural Gas oven/range, You may want to read the below link :copy and paste below linkhttp://ows.rectorseal.com/product-data/RectorSeal-T-Plus-2/dstplus2.htm ***  I  see this product may not be what you want for LP GAS according to Rectorseal, you my be better off using their product called: Copy and paste below into Amazon's search box: Rectorseal 23631 1/4 Pint Brush Top T Plus 2 Pipe Thread Sealant

**Q: Can you use this on pvc cleanout adapter threads?**
A: Yes, you can.  Actually, Rectorseal would probably be one of the BEST products to use in this situation.  The product description states that it can be used on PVC and CPVC.  Rectorseal is a tan-colored, thick paste that acts as a lubricant and sealant on threaded connections.  It is NON-hardening, so it STAYS as a paste.  Since the PVC clean-out is a threaded connection, it should work just fine, without hardening or deforming your PVC pipe.

**Q: The picture and the description both say 4 oz (1/4 pint). the technical details say 8 ounces. which is it?**
A: It is 4 oz as described on the bottle.I do apologize for any confusion.Thank you!

A: Use it on black iron or galgalvanized.
