## Overview

The Tandy Leather Snap-All Snap Setter Set is a precision-engineered manual tool kit crafted from durable steel, designed to deliver consistent, professional-quality snap installations on leather and fabric projects. Compatible with multiple snap sizes (#16, 20, 24), it ensures secure, damage-free closures with every strike, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced leatherworkers aiming for flawless, long-lasting results.

## Description

When snaps fail, the entire project suffers. Crooked closures, cracked caps, weak holds, and wasted leather can turn a great idea into instant frustration. This is exactly why serious leatherworkers trust the Tandy Leather Snap Setter Tool Set to deliver clean, confident results every single time. This precision hand tool kit is designed to take the guesswork out of snap installation. Each steel setter is shaped to cradle snap components perfectly, while the solid metal base block keeps everything aligned and supported. Place the snap, position the setter, apply a controlled strike, and watch the pieces lock together with a firm, professional finish. No slipping, no crushed hardware, no uneven pressure. What sets this kit apart is consistency. Like other alternatives often deform snap caps or leave closures loose after a few uses. This set is built from durable steel that holds its shape job after job, helping you achieve uniform results whether you are installing one snap or fifty. The knurled handles provide a steady grip and control, making each strike feel deliberate and precise rather than risky. Designed for popular Line 20 and Line 24 snaps, this tool set is ideal for belts, bags, wallets, jackets, purses, holsters, and countless other leather goods. It performs equally well for quick repairs and full-scale DIY projects, saving time and preventing costly material waste. Beginners appreciate how easy it is to learn, while experienced crafters rely on it for dependable performance that matches their standards. There is something deeply satisfying about a snap that closes with a solid click and stays secure through daily use. Whether you are upgrading your workshop or starting your leathercraft journey, this snap setter tool set helps you work faster, cleaner, and with total control. Strong tools, smooth results, and a finish that looks and feels professional every time. This is how great leather projects come together.

Review: Exactly What I Needed, Quality Tool Set - 1-23-18 I'm reviewing the Tandy Leather Snap Tool set #8108. I needed to purchase it in order to install the Tandy snaps #1263-03 I purchased, which I didn't know ahead of time. This tool worked out perfectly. It's a solid tool set, which I think I would know what one feels like being a technician/mechanic and an all around Jill of all trades. In this situation, I used a press in order to use the tool. I felt I'd have more control upon installation. I think this set is made to be used with a hammer and a hard surface though. I did finish them off with using a concrete slab surface, just to be sure the rivets in the snaps were all the way seated. At 1st glance, I thought the set would be a "white metal" junk set, but the feel of it all is completely the opposite. In fact, I believe they're steel according to my magnet & the metal's color. The pins are also solid. The other thing I like, is the set is good for more than one size snap. In my case, I used it on the 5/16" or #24 Tandy Snaps (hole size 5/32")... for my application on the Carhart Arctic Bibs/Overalls leg bottoms. My Dickie Bibs have snaps on the bottom, and it keeps the leg cuffs from dragging on the ground. I was already getting premature wear on my recently purchased Carharts. These snaps were perfect in size, strength, and color. In my application, I added a bit of adhesive to the backs of the snaps. Why? My application was cloth and not a leather one. Cloth tends to fray if not stitched with a stop stitch, burned/melted (depending on fabric -such as nylon), or more easily, with glue. The tool set installs the Tandy sizes #16, 20, & 24 along with Glove snaps? I have posted photos of the tool set, the snaps used, and the main application I used them for. Please keep in mind, the snaps I installed on the bibs are not for cosmetic purposes and strictly for function on work gear. So the smeared glue is of no concern to me. I've already used the bibs since installing the snaps too. All is working out well, the snaps hold tightly, without coming undone. If I use the snaps for anything else, I'll update... I'm sure there's always something. I bought this from the seller "BIGFLY" but fulfilled by desertcart, which I feel is important to list this info. I've come across sellers with variances in their items, including knockoffs, even if listed as same brand. I'll post an update with a durability review. The #24 Gunmetal Black Snaps were purchased from "The Leathercraft Store" but fulfilled by desertcart. ***UPDATE*** 3-8-20 It's now been a few times where I've used this tool set. Still functions quite well, and have had hardly any issues while using it. The only hiccup I've had is where tapping down on the snap's rivet, using the tool, this rivet has squashed to the side and not roll the rivet down as it should. I think that's due to hitting the punch portion too hard or off center. I find that the best way to use the tool is to tap it gently at first until you get the initial "roll"... then you can hammer more force. Also, when possible, hold the punch portion of the tool very close to the base while pushing against the second part of the snap. The first part is the riveted piece, the second is the snap or receiver, to hopefully clarify the last sentence. This just helps getting a nice tight install on the material, IMO. Here I have images of the latest project. I needed to make a protective cover for my oscilloscope, which I use in the automotive application. I wanted to be able to hang this tool from the hood, while using it in the engine compartment. This helps keep from sliding off the portable table I use, but also protect the scope from any drops or light moisture. The material I used is a "pleather" type where it is semi water resistant, wipeable, and somewhat pleasing to the eye. I also lined the pouch with batting, to provide the cushion and some shock absorbency. I installed 3 snaps total on this pouch. 2 for locking my scope into the pouch, so the material is tight around the BNC connections, and 1 for the loop I added to hook around hood latches or similar. The snap I installed in the loop, I melted the strap slightly, where the rivet sticks through it, before pressing the rivet. This should help prevent fraying of the strap around the snap receiver, to prolong the life of both pieces. See images I included with the update for the visual, and to get the best understanding of what I described above.
Review: Makes setting snaps a snap - These little guys make setting snaps very easy. For large runs of stuff I would recommend getting a press, but for small runs this works great. Includes everything you need to start setting.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Little Set
*by K***R on July 23, 2024*

Bought these to install buttons in that I could not get to with the vise-grip like tools. These worked great with my only issue being a lack of documentation on which tool for which size button but fairly easy to figure out.
