## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be run in reverse to suck the air in?**
A: You cannot the motor will have to be expose outside element which this is not possible.

**Q: How tight do the shutters close (primary concerned for winter months)?**
A: The shutters do close completely, but are not very thick and are not air tight!

**Q: What is the Wire length, fan to thermostat.**
A: The cord is about 5 feet 6 inches and that plugs into a control box that is 5 1/2 inches long. The cord is not connected to the fan, you will have to connect the wires to the motor. So if you need a longer ord you can buy one and wire it to the motor.

**Q: Does the thermostat just plug into the wall and the fan into the thermostat? I don't see anything that shows me where the thermostat gets it's power.**
A: Yes, the thermostat is plugged into the wall, and the fan plugs into the thermostat. In installed an outlet high on the wall of my shed. I wanted it high so it would sense the hotter temperature in my shed. I did purchase the service plan, just in case. Very easy install, and so far it is amazing and worth every penny. This is my second fan from this company and I am completely satisfied.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product, energy efficient, high performance
*by on Reviewed in Canada July 19, 2020*

Seems to be of good quality for something made in China. The 1/15 horsepower motor runs cool enough even in the hot barn. It also does a really good job of removing old stinky, humid air out of the barn. The chickens are healthyer now Im sure. Now it smells like farm in there, not just like poop! Another plus too is it used hardly any power at only 0.85 amps at full power.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Powerful, Quiet, and Smart — Excellent Ventilation Solution
*by on Reviewed in Canada October 8, 2025*

The iLIVING 18" Exhaust Fan is an excellent upgrade for any garage, workshop, or greenhouse needing reliable ventilation. Installation was straightforward — just cut the opening, mount it flush, and wire it in. The automatic aluminum shutters open and close smoothly, keeping rain, dust, and pests out when the fan’s off.The motor is powerful but impressively quiet, moving a ton of air even on lower speeds. With the built-in thermostat and variable speed control, it automatically adjusts airflow as temperatures rise, which saves energy and keeps the space comfortable without constant tweaking. The build quality is solid — the housing feels durable, and the fan blades are well-balanced with no vibration. I’ve had it running daily in my garage for a few weeks, and it’s kept temperatures down dramatically. The variable control is a great feature — you can dial it down for gentle air movement or crank it up to clear fumes fast.If you’re looking for a reliable, efficient exhaust fan that’s easy to install and built to last, this is a fantastic choice. Perfect for workshops, barns, or any space that needs serious airflow.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to install and works great
*by on Reviewed in the United States October 2, 2024*

The Wall Mounted Shutter Exhaust Fan was incredibly easy to install, and I was able to get it up and running without much hassle. The clear instructions made the process straightforward, and the fan fit perfectly into the space. One thing to note, though, is that you’ll need to have an outlet nearby in the installation area, as it doesn’t come with a very long cord. I was fortunate to have an outlet within reach, but if you don’t, it’s something to plan for ahead of time.Once installed, the difference in my attic temperature was remarkable. Before, the attic was always unbearably hot, especially during the summer, but this fan has made a huge improvement. It helps circulate the air and keeps the attic at a much more manageable temperature, preventing that excessive heat buildup. I’ve noticed a significant drop in temperature, which has also helped reduce the strain on the house's AC system.Overall, this exhaust fan has been a great addition to the house. It was easy to install, works effectively, and has made a noticeable difference in the comfort and airflow of the attic. Highly recommended for anyone needing better ventilation in a hot space!
