Q: What size is the ice scoop ? It's hard to tell from the pictures but it looks like maybe a 2 or 3 ounce scoop. Does anyone know for sure ?

Q: I want to add an extension tube for cleaning/descaling into a bucket. What diameter tubing do I need?

Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us. We do not have the specifications for the tubing used on our Opal ice maker and do not recommend attempting to modify the product from its original design. If descaling the unit has become a frequent chore due to the hardness of your water, you may want to consider using distilled water. Descaling is not needed quite so often when using distilled water. The specifications for this ice maker lists the productivity rating at 1.1-1.3 lbs of ice per hour under optimum conditions of 60°F water temperature and 70°F ambient room temperature.
