These adaptors are simply not up to the job. The twisting action of fitting and removal snaps the plastic legs holding the bracket together.. I ride about 200 to 250 miles a week with cafe stops. So each time i stop at a cafe I remove the camera and refit when ready to leave. It then comes off again at home for charging. I have now broken four of these in the last four weeks. The last two only lasted one ride. I have been applying some light teflon grease to the adaptor to try and make fitting easier, but they still break. Unfortunately there is no alternative. I love the Cycliq cam. I have had four prosecutions now from footage I have sent to the Police following incidents with cars, but this rubbish bracket is a huge downside to an otherwise excellent camera. What on earth are Cycliq doing ruining their reputation with this very unsatisfactory product. It's simply not fit for purpose. Unfortunately I cannot give less than one start rating. Always make sure you use the safety lanyard suppied with ghe cam looped around the Garmin mount. If you don't your £200 cam will hit the ground sooner or later.

Break easy, going through 1 per week if lucky here on Scottish roads, 4 per month at near £40... brittle plastic and expensive for crap material, but have no choice as camera is perfect...if only they made a long lasting alloy one like Gopro, K-Edge, Lifeline etc...Cycliq need to come up with a solution to keep their credibility but selling more of these makes them money...bad design.

this product is extremely brittle very easy to break when removing or mounting the camera I now use no nails to keep it in place so I don't over tighten with screw.

Bizarre that the camera is so well made but the mounting brackets are appalling. Either put a standard quarter turn male on the camera so we can use a quality after market mount, or put a screw thread like Lezyne and Cateye so we can attach one of their male fittings. These cycliq mounts appear to be made from recycled drink straws and will break (there is no 'might', they will break).

Well unlike some of the others on here, mine actually lasted many months but it just broke today. It seems that Cycliq, a specialist in bicycle tech, is simply unable to comprehend that road bikes don't have suspension. Therefore they need to make mounting systems that can withstand the repeated shocks from riding on the road. Their flimsy mounting systems are completely ruining the really quite good light/camera tech they make. If it wasn't for the lanyard that I took the trouble to hook up, my camera would have fallen to the road and may have been run over by the car behind. Very disappointed.

These mounting brackets are made from cheap plastic. I just completed a 50 mile bike ride and it broke, good job i had the lanyard attached or the complete camera would have been destroyed. These plastic mounting bracket parts are not fit for intended use.

My only complaint is the propriety of this mount. The light will not affix to any other mount, so you will need this to adapt to any out front style bracket. The stock plastic mount is garbage and breaks within 10 minutes of use. CYCLIQ should accompany this with their cameras from the start. Its a shame you have to purchase this separately.

Very handy

I have had 3 of these break on my road bike, I have a dual mount with a Garmin on the top and the FLY 12 on the bottom. 1 has cracked where the bolt goes thru it and 2 have the connecting tabs have broken on the top of the mount. Last one lasted me 2 weeks, would like something better but have not found it. Make sure you secure your FLY 12 with the lanyard to your handlebars, doing this has saved my FLY 12 from damage and loss.
