Gevi Espresso Machines 20 Bar Fast Heating Automatic c/ Milk Frother Wand 1350W, Silver
I have been talking about purchasing an espresso machine and researching them for a while. I love good strong flavorful coffee without grounds or gritty residue!!! The machine I ultimately want is the retro stainless steel Smeg but at around $820.00 it was more than I was willing to shell out seeing that I have never used an espresso machine before... so I decided to try a less expensive machine. I live in a small place (399 sq ft) so real estate is at a premium. With that being said any machine I purchase must be: low profile, simple to use / clean, decent quality, and stylish looking. I read reviews the good and bad ones then weigh the pros and cons. I decided the Gevi Espresso machine would fit my requirements and provide me with the opportunity to learn and practice my skills. Purchased on Feb 23rd and delieved Feb 25th and used the first time on Feb26th of 2022. So far I have not been dissapointed in this small but powerful machine and these are things I have learned in the past 7 days: 1. Purchase a 12 oz stainless steel frothing container. I am using a 20oz and it is too deep for the 1/4 cup of milk I use to froth. So now waiting for the arrival of my 12oz container. 1a. Purchase 12oz cups designed for cappucinnos or 2.5oz for espresso. American sized cups (bigger the better) do not work nor should they if you are looking for a true Italian experience. 2. This machine heats up fast and can produce a wonderful 1 or 2 shot espresso in no time. I estimate under 5 minutes when starting from cold. Way less then that when it is heated up. 3. The color, texture, taste and crema of the espresso is perfect for my all time favorite Iced Vanilla Almond Milk latte with double shot! But then I make my almond milk from scratch. 3a. Using an Espresso Powder is essential... do not use grounds the taste, texture and crema is non-exisitent if you use coffee grounds! Currently my two favorites are Illy or Medaglia D'Oro both DARK ROAST. 3b. The only negative thing I can say is the tamper/scoop is plastic. I use a separate metal tamper and coffee scoop. But those are my preferences. 4. If I want a hot cup of cappuccino it suggests steam/froth first but I prefer making th espresso first and steam milk second. That way I do not have to cool down the machine before making the espresso. It isn't a big deal but it works for me. 5. The steam/froth feature is killer and works well with whole milk & lactose free whole milk. I have not tried steaming my homemade almond milk yet so I cannot comment of milk alternatives as of yet. 6. I love the pressure gauge on the front which tells me if I am in the sweet spot for pulling shots! Simply brilliant. So there you have it. An initial review of my very first espresso machine. So far on a scale of 1 to 10 - I rate this machine a 10 for simplisity, functionality, quality, looks, and ease of cleaning. If anything changes I will return and update this review.

VERY GOOD. "SETTING RECORD STRAIGHT" it makes 20 oz Maximum & does have AUTO SHUT OFF.
FACTOID on CAPACITY ("Cups"): So much ambiguity about HOW MUCH IT MAKES. I measured it precisely. If you fill the provided pitcher with water to the "MAXIMUM" fill line ... that is 20 or 21 ounces. THEREFORE it is 2 1/2 cups (almost exactly) if you are putting 8 oz in each cup. [Some reviews mention 4 or 5 cups. That would ONLY be if they are using 4 or 5 oz MINI SIZED, cute, Coffee Cups.] This confusion is COMMON in the coffee makers manufacturing industry (both China made and Made in USA). So this Is to set the record straight. I GIVE IT 5 STARS BECAUSE ... 1. Looks Good (red one) and NOT TOO BIG (bulky). 2. Use & Operation is typical; it is intuitive and easy to use. ONE TOP lifts for adding BOTH coffee and water [it replaces one that had 2 tops to open; one to put coffee in and another for water ... an unnecessary wasted time and motion.] 3. The water pour-in area is wide open making easy to pour a the crafe of water in w/o spill (unlike one it replaces, that cost 1/2 as much, so an upgrade here). IMPORTANT TIP: use finger trigger to LIFT LID on POT as you pour (for pouring water in and for pouring coffee out; this eliminates spillage some complained about). 4. Comes with nice permanent filter; goes in and fits nicely. 5. It has only one button and one light ... ah ... SIMPLICITY! [Push button for on and lights up; push again and goes off and light goes out.] 6. Manual is pretty good, written in china with bad English but not to bad as not to be understood. 7. RE: Ration (Coffee to Water)? Not found. Comes with scooper. I am using 2 heaping scoops to a pot. 8. Comes complete with the REUSUAGLE filter basket (has nice with little handle, clicks into place nicely when seated). 9. Looks good in red, black and disco trim (they call it; a chrome looking band around it.) 10 Top opens and closes nicely with one hand (some, like my last 2 others need 2 hands to hold while opening or do not close right). 11. Used for a month now: tastes and works fine (including the auto-off timer). 12. Claims to be "5 cups" ... and crafe is so marked. Bull! it is just 2 cups sized (based on a normal sized, not oversized mug). NOTE: All coffee maker manufacturers use their own crazy "cups count" calculation methodologies, so NEVER trust the stated "number of cups" ratings. If you got 5 cups out of this max brew, you would be using VERY DAINTIEST of cups (Queens tea perhaps). 13. Makes tVERY HOT COFFEE (good for me). 14. Water level window on side not good; like so many too dark to see contrast and tell how much water is in the water tank (unless use a flashlight or other very bright, direct light to read it). 15. I don't consider myself an expert "coffee taster." But, for me, the result is good tasting coffee! 16. Mid-Stream Coffee Pour function works very well. AUTO SHUT OFF FEATURE. Fact is: it has a preset keep-warm timer; it automatically shuts off in about one hour; it keeps coffee warm for that time. It has only one button/setting: ON or OFF. It has only ONE LIGHT (red one). So, you press start button & red light comes on ... light STAYS ON stays on during brewing AND ALSO throughout the WARM-KEEPING-time. The light goes off at expiration of keep warm time. THE MANUAL IS DEFiCIENT ... 1) NO MENTION of the AUTO SHUT-OFR feature and (2) UNCLEAR ON NUMBER OF CUPS. ITs GREAT. Looks good, compact, simple operation and functions well. COMPARISON to OTHER COFFEE MAKERS ... It is better than my last 3 other brands (including horrible and expensive Black and Decker, a Mr Coffee and some other brands; Those had many features and many problems. This is ultimate in Turn on and makes your coffee and keeps it warm and lets you pour a cup midstream while brewing and keeps it warm about an hour. What else is needed? BEST TIP: You do NOT need to pour slowly (to prevent spill) from the cafe if you just push the provided top opener (i.e. lifts the top and holdes it open) when pouring water in or coffee out. SO SIMPLE.

GEVI 5-Cup vs. Keurig : Gevi wins.
First off, this little 5-cup maker is the perfect size for me. I drink about five cups a morning to keep me going while I write. The Keurig IS convenient, but the flavor just isn't there as compared to this Gevi. The Gevi is so much quieter than the pod maker. My Keurig was like a jet engine compared to the Gevi. During brewing, it is practically silent. Only at the end do you hear the whooshing of the final moments of its brew cycle, which in itelf is like a quarter of the noise from the pod maker. There is no comparison in the flavor department. I never used cheap coffee pods in the Keurig, so it wasn't a "cheap-out" on my part. The Gevi, which has a conical basket, gives me consistently excellent coffee. I have tried a couple of different Starbuck's roasts plus a Dunkin Donuts roast and loved them all. My personal favorite right now is Death Wish coffee. It's expensive but heavily caffeinated. Some dislike that there is no beep at the end of the brew cycle, but the final noise it makes serves the same purpose. I, at first, was going to go for a programmable until I realized that, being retired, I don't necessarily get up at the same time every morning. I keep the Gevi in my home office for a readily available cup whenever I wish. I love this little coffee maker and would recommend it to anyone looking for a 4 to 5 cup brewer. I have had no problem with the carafe other than it will dribble if you pour too fast. So, easy solution, don't do that. It does seem a little brittle, but I have nothing to base that on except for other comments. I have bumped it a couple of times on the SS sink with no problem. It came with a permanent filter but I chose to use paper filters, which, should be used without the perm filter. Great cost vs quality ratio!

Sonic ice maker with great taste
Love this ice maker! Works so well and tastes so good. Literally so easy to use and make the ice. The ice lasts about 12 hours if I had to guess. It’s pretty costly for $300, but I think for all you have to do is add water and it makes ice. It works great and I love just crunching on the ice.

TWO DEFECTIVE MACHINES IN SEVEN MONTHS. BUYER BEWARE.
I don’t usually write reviews, but people need to know what they’re getting into with this company. I purchased this Gevi ice maker in December 2025. It failed. Gevi replaced it under warranty in April 2026. That replacement also failed after only THREE MONTHS. Not after years of heavy use. Not because I abused it. Three months. The replacement began making loud groaning and squealing noises while producing ice. The cleaning light came on constantly despite me using only distilled water, and I found myself descaling the machine sometimes twice a week just to keep it functioning. Customer service then put me through the usual warranty obstacle course: * Unplug it for 24 hours. * Descale it. * Verify the water pump. * Film multiple videos. * Send pictures. * Answer questions I’d already answered. I did EVERY SINGLE THING they asked. Their response? A 5% off coupon to buy another Gevi ice maker. Seriously? After TWO defective machines? Here’s the part that absolutely blew my mind. Buried on Gevi’s warranty page is this little gem: “Gevi’s warranty includes one complimentary replacement service only.” Read that again. If your first machine is defective, they’ll replace it. If the replacement they send you is ALSO defective, congratulations—you now own two broken ice makers, and Gevi’s solution is to offer you a coupon to buy a third. That is not a warranty. That’s a gamble. The ice itself is great when the machine actually works, but reliability is atrocious. Even worse is a company that knows its replacement units can fail and has written a policy that completely abandons customers after the first replacement. I expected a premium appliance. Instead, I got: * One defective machine. * One defective replacement. * Hours spent troubleshooting. * Endless emails and videos. * A coupon code. Never again. Save yourself the frustration and buy from a company that actually stands behind its products.

Better than Vevor
We bought this after having 2 Vevor brand that were the same style. The Vevor brand was horrible and didn't last more than a few months each time. We have had this one for a while now and as long as you do the normal cleaning and maintenance it runs good. We have the inline water filter setup on the water line that runs to this and every week I run a cleaner through it to keep the scale and other buildup from forming. It sits on our kitchen counter and when running isn't loud at all. It also doesn't take up much counter space and fits where we need it. With multiple people using it, we have been able to keep up with ice in the machine and rarely run out now.

Good until it isn't
Ordered this machine. It works well. Cleaning it is a bit of headache with out a cleaning kit. We only used purified or alkaline water and it still got mold/mildew in it. It is now almost 4yrs later and it stopped working. Now we need to buy another one. I probably won't buy another one from this brand.
