Traverse Bay Fruit Dried Cherries, 8 Ounce (Pack of 4)

I absolutely love these! I've been purchasing them for several years to use in baking (they're great in bran muffins), salads, in compotes/sauces, and to eat at the end of a meal with a glass of wine.They're not too sweet. Instead, they have a really bright tart cherry flavor. I prefer getting them this way (8-oz packages) as they stay fresher longer that way.Probably my favorite recipe for these is a variation on Waldorf salad:PACIFIC NORTHWEST WALDORF SALAD==========================1 C finely chopped celery3 apples (I use Granny Smith, but if you like sweeter, use Fuji or Gala) -- about 2.5 - 3 C chopped3/4 C chopped dried cherries1/3 C finely chopped toasted hazelnuts1/3 C plain yogurt OR mayonnaise1/4 C sour cream1 1/2 Tbsp fresh lemon juicepinch saltCombine first four ingredients in medium bowl. Combine yogurt, sour cream, juice, and salt in small bowl; stir well with whisk. Drizzle over celery mixture; toss gently. Cover and chill 1 hour.Serves 4-6.I've tripled this recipe successfully to take to a potluck dinner. These Traverse Bay cherries are absolutely perfect!Will continue to purchase these as long as Amazon continues to carry them ...

Wow. My husband and I are speechless. He is a huge dried cherry fan & we spend our lives trying to find The Kind. They are always in small bags, expensive, pitted, or just gross. To say the least, I'm not a fan in general of dried cherries. I decided to search dried cherries on amazon a few weeks ago and went through all the reviews for each kind. The reviews for this item were all super great, so I figured- why not? They weren't that expensive.Then we got them. Now, they are gone. OMG THEY ARE SO DELICIOUS. I actually ate more than my husband, he was pissed (lovingly so). I don't even like dried cherries- but these are SO good! If kids delicious fun-fruit snacks had a baby with oversized super plump raisins- this would be the demi-god child.Pros:- I've never tasted anything SO DELICIOUS for a dried fruit, my husband agrees- Sweetened enough to be "sweet" but bland enough to know it's a healthy dried fruit- No Pits found in any of our containers so far (and we've had a ton)- Nice packaging, four small little stackable containers- Good arrival time & packaging- GREAT priceCons:- We are going to eat so much that we will either turn into a dried cherry... or... end up hating them forever because we are stuffing our faces full.- You are still reading this and not clicking Buy Item haha

I only purchased these for their anti-inflammatory properties and the fact that they're so high in antioxidants. Over the last year or so, I've been changing our diets by slowly switching to more health-beneficial foods and incorporating more organic items. I'm also trying to extend the time before a needed second spinal fusion, and at 39 I have arthritis in several areas of my body, so I thought the cherries would be a good addition to the foods I'm already eating to help from the inside out. I was expecting something completely different. I thought dried cherries would be tough, bitter, and hard to stomach, and I only planned on putting them in oatmeal.... but NO! These just arrived about 30 minutes ago and I tasted them, just plain. They're awesome! These dried cherries are moist, chewy, and full of *cherriness*. There is some tartness, but it is balanced out with an underlying sweetness. They're just so good! I can't wait to add these to oatmeal, coconut flour pancakes, salads, and many other things. It's a good thing I set these up for auto-delivery, as they're going to become a staple in our diets.

I love dried fruit, and eat a lot of it. I have found cherries to be a bit tricky to find in a reasonable price and not be overly sweetened or overly dried or just plain mushy. The good reviews of others on the site spurred me to try this product and I am glad to say that I am now a devotee...The cherries come in small enough containers to cart around if I need to take a snack with me, and the quality of the dried fruit is the best I've had of cherries in a long time. They are just the right amount of 'dry' and just the right level of 'tart' and just the perfect sweet treat.I eat them as is, but I also added them to cereal, yogurt, muffins, and scones. They are AMAZING with vanilla icecream, and are just plain lovely in an orange-pound-cake that I recently made for the holidays. Everyone commented on the cherries in the pastry and asked for more.The price of the two pounds total (four tabs of 8oz each) is also very reasonable as far as dried fruit in general, and cherries in particular. This is a keeper.I will be getting more of those, that's for sure!

I bought these because my toddler loves to snack on dried cherries, but the cost of getting dried cherries can be a little rough. I was buying Mariani (sp?) brand bags from the store, which ran almost 4 dollars for just a couple ounces. I figured there had to be something better. So I ordered this to see if it would work out, as 2 lbs for 14.00 and change (using subscription), was quite a bit cheaper. I have to agree with the other ratings: these cherries are awesome! They have much better "cherry" flavor than the Mariani ones, have better color, and are just a tad softer to boot. They're dried, but not so dried out that they're ridiculously tough like dried fruits can be. The tart cherry flavor comes through really well, while not being bitter eating. I've been tempted to snack on them myself a few times! Having them in small containers versus all in one bag is also extremely handy for keeping the supply fresh. If Amazon keeps the price this good, I won't be buying from the store ever again.
