As a Gentleman Would Say Revised and Expanded: Responses to Life's Important (and Sometimes Awkward) Situations (The GentleManners Series)

Great Starting Point
Overall great book to give most aspiring and seasoned gentleman. With that being said, it is a great place to start, however, I find that some of these responses are fair and by no means great. In my opinion, there are much better ways for a gentleman to deal with these situations. For example, there is a page that brings up a situation where you have a date at an elegant restaurant and she proceeds to continually sample from your plate. The line basically directly tells her what you’re going to do, whereas you should just do it and explain it only after it’s been done to avoid the inevitable offense many ladies would incur from the abrupt response. As I stated, this is still an excellent place to start and a great reminder for others. Still earns 5 stars from me which says a lot, do yourself a favor and give this book a read.

Memory vs the Heart
Leslie Stahl does a probing interview to help us understand how feeble our memory is when it comes backtracking events we've experienced. The subjects include a white women and black man. The woman was raped and was sure her memory led to the black man accused. Sentenced for 10 years in a prison, oddley enough with the real rapist, the accused finally gets released through the science of DNA and meets the accusor. Wow, that's where humanity steps in and shows us how beautiful the human heart is. The dvd is 30 minutes long and covers numerous subtext. Worth a watch more than once.

Good guide to cultural expectations that might otherwise be inaccessible
John Bridges' "Gentleman" guides to behavior and etiquette are very useful to those of us who were not steeped in this culture as part of our upbringing yet have a need to understand and interact with it.

Great book, but it falls just a bit short.
This book is great for any guy that wants to be more of a gentleman. It goes through many social situations (some awkward, some day-to-day) and how a gentleman would appropriately deal with them. For the most part, these tips are accurate and handy, but most of them are just plain common sense. There are also some questionable answers in here, and highly situational ones that cannot really be answered solidly for everyone. For the low price, it's great!

Awesome template for social pitfalls and awkward situations
I have a son with Asperger's, which makes social situations more difficult for him to navigate. This book is an excellent how-to for anyone who needs a little instruction for making it in the social world (everybody). Some of the chapters will have to wait until older (dating age), but it's a great resource for current and future interactions for socially adapt and socially clueless alike.
