This is one of my favorite Goldsmith scores. Listening to it made me feel like I was back in high school, when the movie came out.Unfortunately, I’m not a huge fan of the remixed tracks. The bouzouki is better mixed in the original album (often relegated to either the left or right channel) than its remix to dead-center on the 2018 album. The soundscape is less expansive because of this. And there’s also an annoying static-y interference in the right channel during the last minute of “Camel Race” that I'm surprised made it past quality control.Other than those quibbles, I greatly enjoyed this new release.

I've always been a big fan of Jerry Goldsmith and I am familiar with much of his work.  His composition and orchestration demonstrated in this CD set is fabulous.  He captures the suspense and action of the movie with a mastery that is hard to beat.  Listen to this album when you have time to do so in one sitting, turn the volume up on a high-quality set of speakers (or headphones) and enjoy the adventure!  I would love to see more "2CD Expanded Soundtracks" by this composer.  I would not hesitate to buy these.
