It is also pretty heavy before you even put anything in it. Having said that, we love the water bottle pockets, tons of zippered compartments and bright colours. The adjustable straps stay adjusted which is nice- so many kids backpacks don't. Just be warned if you have petite young person- these are quite big for a school backpack. Daughter loves it and she is happy! When I first showed her the picture she wasn't thrilled about the red straps but once it was here- she liked them.
