My Belson just blew up and it's been discontinued so I just received this Conair 1 1/4" brush curling iron in the mail this morning so just used it and it's great. The larger Belson is no longer available but this is perfect and heats up very quickly. I love it! **Q: can you touch the bristles without getting burned?** A: the bristles are not hot, the metal strips between the bristles is what gets hot. you can wrap your hand around the bristles and not get burned, but be careful not to push your finger tips through the bristles and touch the metal strip, it will burn. **Q: I have a short Bob..will this work to add body and height?** A: I have short layered hair that I am growing out into a short bob. While I cannot guarantee your results, it does add body and height without the over curling of a regular curling iron. I got the 1 1/4 inch size so that it would be larger to add body without curl. Obviously some well-placed mousse or styling gell (directly on the roots) helps as does drying hair with your head upside down and then using this styling wand to, ironically, calm it down into the shape you want after. I hope this helps you. **Q: straighten** A: I don't think it is intended to straighten the hair. What it does do is it smooth's out curly hair. En realidad una ganga y de muy buena calidad. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Llega antes de lo pensado *by C***A on 27 July 2019* Muy practico y bueno ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Back to Basics *by B***N on 29 July 2020* I spent a small fortune on one of the newer ceramic - ion - flim flam curling brushes and to be honest, it works fine its just impossible to clean. So from hair and product build up it's just not worth the effort. I even bought a solution to use and it did disolve the build up and clean the brush barrel but it was a mess and not very easy to do. So, I went back to basics and ordered this Conair curling brush which has a screw in the end you can remove and slide out the combs and soak and wash them so easily. I don't think it was designed with that in mind but happily the ability to carefully remove and clean the combs is it's best feature. I've had one of these before and don't know why I thought the latest technology would be better ... maybe it is but it's not worth it if you can't sanitize it. Anyway, this Conair version is wonderful. It works exactly the same as the one that cost 10 times the price. The key is to use with caution - just like you should with any heated product. Keep it clean and keep your hair healthy and save yourself a lot of trouble (and money). I bought two sizes of this curling brush and I love them both.
