American Coasters: A Thrilling Photographic Ride

Great pictures, but lacking information
This "photographic ride" zeroes in on a handful of parks, mostly on the East Coast and in Florida. There are so many truly great coasters missing, while other photos take up space with cloned coasters like the ancient SLC, Mind Eraser (which is on the cover for whatever reason, strange choice). The photos are mostly gorgeous and there are some truly stunning shots in the book. However, there's not enough text, making it more of a coffee table look book than a volume about the history of these rides. There are some technical specs and a few blurbs for the different parks featured (such as Kennywood, Six Flags New England, etc) but no real meat in the reading department. With so few books in publication about coasters, this one is a nice heavy volume with glossy pages, and is perfect as a display book on a side table, which is where my copy is kept.

This book has amazing photos of awesome roller coasters found throughout America
This book was exactly what I was looking for for my son. He loves roller coasters and I looked literally EVERYWHERE for a book that featured pictures of various roller coasters. This book has amazing photos of awesome roller coasters found throughout America. Page after page of POV photos along with full photos of the roller coasters. If you are searching for a book with small amounts of information and mostly pictures this is right up your alley. Beautiful photography and a great variety of old, new, wooden, and steal coasters found in the USA.

Nice big pictures and interesting statistics for me to read ...
My son loves roller coasters, so this book is a hit! Nice big pictures and interesting statistics for me to read to him. It seems a little dated (not all the pictures look like todayโs quality), but itโs a great option for roller coaster lovers!

Good Book
The book was very good, but did not showcase all major parks. The photos of the parks that were in the book were amazing. It would have been perfect if oher major parks like Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Darien Lake, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Over Texas, etc. were expanded upon.

Great Photos!
I bought this book for my son, who is a young roller coaster enthusiast. Although he thoroughly enjoyed it, we both were a little disappointed because some of his favorite Six Flags parks (which were all in the top 10 of all amusement parks!) were not featured. Instead, many of the coasters featured were from random, smaller and lesser-known parks. In spite of this, he still enjoyed the book, both for its photos and information he learned.

Worth the price.
Awesome roller coaster book for the coaster enthusiast. My 6 year old highly enjoys thumbing through this book. Here is his review -- " I like this book. This is a great book. It has great pictures."
